Tour de France Tour de France 2024 route rumours and announcements

I've read everything people have written about what they think about a 200+ km monster mountain stage, and nobody mentioned how nice it would be to have a long hard day to tire the riders, followed by a really short stage with big climbs cramped inside so we can see an intense race with fatigue...

Tour de France Tour de France 2024 route rumours and announcements

Not a ramp, but there is 4 km of paved road at 6.1% to Lac Besson after the normal Alpe d'Huez finish.

2023 Tour de France route rumors

I don't think the amount of TT Kilometres is a big deal. Last year Vingegaard was 39 seconds from Pogacar at the start of the Granon stage. 8 of those seconds was from a TT. With the top riders we have right now, we do not need many TT Kilometres. Pogacar and Vingegaard is almost as fast as each...

2023 Tour de France route rumors

No, I think it's the Col du Ballon from Tenay and then Grand Colombier from Culoz

I tried making a better version of some stages: Grand Colombier: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41310229 Morzine: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41310159 Courchevel: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41310206 Bourg en Bresse: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41310330

2023 Tour de France route rumors

Too many flat stages, the stages are too short, the mountains are not really that hard and cramped into a small area.

2023 Tour de France route rumors

A thread with possible roads to build would be great. Or a thread with unseen climbs and combos to use. The Madeleine + Tougnete + Loze + Pralognan la Vanoise (Or Champagny en Vanoise, or Plan Fournier , or Feissons sur Salins or La Cour) would be a brutal stage, and no flat in the last 90 Km...

2023 Tour de France route rumors

I tried making a route like that but there is to long between these two climbs. The top of the Bisanne is almost 40 kilometers away from the foot of Bettex. The first 17 Kilometers is switching between downhill and flat road, then there is 10 kilometes of flat before 8 kilometres of downhill...

2023 Tour de France route rumors

All rumors says the stage finish is at the Altiport, so it needs to go all the way up.

2023 Tour de France route rumors

Thanks, that was me. The problem would probably occur when the front group starting climbing to Courchevel, becuase it's only a 28 Kilometer loop, most of them downhill, 5 kilometer slightly uphill and 10 kilometer at 6 percent, so the grupetto can't be much more than 40 minutes behind. So the...

2023 Tour de France route rumors

I think the Col de la Loze is just too hard to make people attack before it, and both ways have a long valley before any major climb. The best way would probably be Col de la Loze and then Courchevel, as you mentioned I have already made such a loop. But if we would have that, there wouldn't...
