There was nothing wrong with the stage profile - I mean, its not a monster tough stage but not every stage should be - blame the attitude of the riders and the strength of Sky. A long non-technical descent can be bad, but on this sort of finish you've got every chance of keeping or extending...

I don't think this course has been terrible. But it could have benefited from a serious mountain top finish today, and a decent classic style stage (hills or cobbles) or two early in the race.

Honestly, they should just ditch the "no drafting" rule. Or maybe hold the event on a motorway. I don't see how its fairly enforceable on a vaguely technical course.
