    Brits don't dope?

Re: Re: I am a US national by domicile, as my mother was in the US when I was born. Perhaps I should have put 'what domicile means in this context' or 'domicile of origin' in my post. You clearly understand this principle as you demonstrate it to Sam in a subsequent post.

    Brits don't dope?

Re: By domicile, he is Kenyan. By birth, he is British. Culturally, he is a white african who lives in Monaco. Wiggo might have been born in Belgium to an Aussie father, but culturally, he is as 'British' as Paul Weller or David Beckham (Or me, who was born in the States, but no one...

The Yates (AKA the TUE Brothers)

Re: Yes. Plus he races with panache and his team don't strangle the life out of it. I expect he will get much less of a hard time than other more er radically transformed riders. Be interesting to see how Brailsfraud tries to claim credit for it...

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

It’s almost as if Brailsford doesn’t know what’s going on haha

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

Re: Re: OK my bad if those are true, I knew that Wiggo was low-mid 80s when pursuiting and just assumed Thomas would be similar as he didnt look Tour winner thin, but well, like a healthy trackie...

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

Re: Re: I'm not sure why I am helping him but both Boardman and Obree went from pursuit to the Hour Record, which supports some of his physiological argument. The flaw is that track cycling requires upper body strength to resist the G force and constant acceleration - this then becomes a big...

AICAR, GW1516 Wada can test, can the French ?

If a drug is effective you bet it gets fed to the gee-gees... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/28407446/ “Detection time 4.5 hours “ That there hasn’t been a positive for this just makes me think the test doesn’t work because you see the benefits of it, then look at the peloton and...

This is a brilliant post and as a fellow champagne Marxist and semi-troll (anglophone) I salute you.

    Dave Brailsford - cycling genius

Cycling is/was a sport of individuals, free thinkers and iconoclasts. Sky is an arm of Murdoch's 'evil empire' which is seen as the antithesis of all that, and Brailsford is a most dreadful mouthpiece. He's embarrassing in the way he is pandering to the golf club Brexity mentality with his...

Geraint Thomas, the next british hope

With G at least it is the transformation of a short distance thoroughbred into a stayer, with Froome it was the transformation of seaside donkey into Sea Biscuit. One has a faint air of plausibility about it, the other, slight less so :) I wonder what Brailsfraud is whispering in G's ear?

Team Ineos (Formerly the Sky thread)

Re: I think he is very similar to Armstrong, and he will be undone in a similar way. Froome I could tolerate if he was just left to keep his mouth shut and do omerta like everyone else, as he is quite an entertaining rider when he is fully on it. But DB has to give it the marginal gains/fluffy...

Team Ineos (Formerly the Sky thread)

Re: IMO what really gets people going is Brailsford. As a Brit, I just find him an embarrassment. It's the smug superiority and *** hypocrisy, while either being ignorant of commonly known information, or lying, or both. The performance in Parliament was the final straw. Froome is just a...

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

The 95% thing only works if you have done a 5 minute blow out prior to the 20 minute test to clear your FRC/W'/whatever its called now. Otherwise it's lower, hardly anyone I know or whose results I follow can do 95% of their best power for a 10 mile TT for an hour.
