Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2025, Stage 9: Alfaró – Estación de Esquí de Valdezcaray (195.5k)

Weekend stages are really horrible, but I think with the overall disappointment it kinda sent under the radar. Anyway, as some commentators would say "we can expect one of the most exciting and interesting finales in this year's Vuelta"......NO.

What kind of gt stages would you like to see more of ?

Just use the finale of that Avenir stage with some decent climbs in the first 130km and I'm happy.

Ayuso isn't torched for that though.

I felt sorry for Ayuso and I generally try to be a bit more level-headed towards him, but I think he tries in every possible way to prove me wrong. Anyway, Almeida didn't really need his team in these stages, so the jury is still on, but I can totally see a situation where he is DNF or DNS...

Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2025, Stage 7: Andorra la Vella – Cerler (188.0k)

Did he invent a new math or something? Edit: He goes by the old 1min/10km rule perhaps?

    Men's U23 races and talents

Last year we saw Torres and he doesn't seem too legendary now. Also, I think we see the rebirth of Purito.

Vuelta a España La Vuelta a España 2025: Who will finish on the podium?

Agree, he is obviously riding for GC, so does Pellizzari it seems. Still, I'm not sold on Ciccone's actual chances, but that's just me.

    Juan Ayuso discussion thread

Imagine the meltdown when Juan "the great one" Ayuso pace Almeida, dropping Vingegaard in the process, thus securing Almeida's GC win.. Or even better, Almeida and Ayuso crossing the finish lines on Angliru and Bola del Mundo hand by hand, like Hinault and Lemond did 40 years ago.. Oh there...

Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2025, Stage 7: Andorra la Vella – Cerler (188.0k)

I kinda think he will try if he feels strong enough, even with the stage win out of hand. Putting his stamp on the race, confirming that he is the strongest isn't a bad thing. Although admittedly Cerler is rather bad MTF for the first week, especially after a day with plenty, but not...

    Ban Team Time Trials ?

I enjoy watching TTTs as they are beautiful, but the potential gaps should be reduced. Yesterday's stage didn't produce any significant gaps, thankfully, but sometimes a TTT may effectively decide a race. And it's simply not good if you lose time simply because your teammates are weaker/crash...

Although I kinda feel sorry dor Ayuso, this sounds like a poor excuse. Matxin said they will need both leaders (A&A) to perform good if they want to fight Vingegaard, and Ayuso himself never said (before today) he isn't going for GC.

Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2025, Stage 7: Andorra la Vella – Cerler (188.0k)

Harder stage to control tomorrow than today's was. If Visma didn't bother to control today, I don't think they are going to do it tomorrow. However, if some other team gives them a hand, there will be a battle between the favorites. Otherwise, and most likely scenario, another break win. Time...

To be honest that sounds somehow plausible. With Carlos Rodriguez out, Mas...they probably knew he isn't likely to start and Landa questionable, I wouldn't be surprised if that's true.
