It's hard to make out of the profile, but the last kms have some humps and bumps it seems.

Will it be enough to get rid of some real fast man or will it just be enough to cause a major crash?

it's not a stage for the betting guys, let's be careful.
230 km is a lot, very bumpy in the end, very fast.i don't know if it will be a bunch sprint,i hope not.anyway everyone will watch mende:p

Isn't the elevation of the finish 255m? But is this stage 230km or 202km long? The two profiles aren't consistent.

I am wrong to think Cancellara? Who else?

I'm puzzled. The last kms profile posted on this thread seems to be from last years'. That stage finished in Indicatore and had 202 km circa.

At CT I got this:

1.Altimetria profile similar to the one posted by zam.
2. Last 15 km profile including:
2.1. A climb from 9,5 to 7,5 km to go; 4,4 % avg, with a strech at 12%.
2.2. A climb from 4,5 to 3 km to go; 3,1% average.

I think it's a harder finale than the one that saw Farrar win last year. But it's still going to end in a bunch sprint. Cheering for Edvald.

I am wrong, it's a different circuit this year. Probably a harder finish (without seeing a detailed profile).

on this ticker they also say the descent is tricky probably very narrow roads.
i think acqua e sapone will try something.it will be cool if cancellara goes, looking at his form he's the only one probably who can derail the sprinters trains

I could be wrong but this year it's the same circuit but only in reverse.

I respectfully disagree:D My interpretation from all the profiles from stage 2 (both from last year and this year) is they are definately different circuits. They go through Indicatore for the first time on the same road. But while last year they had a 8 km loop. This year they have a +-30 km loop. So both parcours share a couple of similar streches and they will takle the same finish line as last year in reverse. But that's about it.

Hate to sound somewhat ACF-ish, but can't really look past Freire on a stage like that. He's shown good form this season too

Same here! he said in an interview that he wont be the leadout man that honour will probably go to sutton but he will probably be stringing out the peloton and raising the pace and will probably be 3rd man, I'm just hoping he will not be blown by sky by the time that they realise the finish wont be for cav.

Edvald said to Norwegian TV2 this morning that he will in fact be the last man in the train for Cav, which is a bit surprising considering the comments made yesterday.

Edvald is an expert at winning bike races even when he's supposed to be the leadout man though. He won his first proffesional road race while being Greipel's 3rd man in Eneco :p
