This, unfortunately.

It's a market. Human society, especially its youth who are looking for a place, need to feel recognized, accomplished, winners, etc. Not Losers.

And there is a big pharmaceutical industry that can make their wildest dreams come true, to the applause of their peers and the adults, at times even their country.

WADA is the one that needs to wake up !

Any under 21yo caught using drugs should receive " Bans " that apply until their " Coming of age at 21 " !

At 21yo they are deemed Adults and thus cannot say " My Peers made me do it " or any of that CRAP !

Wanting to be " Famous " as a drug user at 15 ? Can parents let their children wear this " Badge of Dishonour " for the rest of their sporting Career ?

Wonder how many " Wannabe's " will chance a ban such as this ?

But, will the dad be punished, other than by having to coach a banned athlete for a year?

Nothing in Dutch press yet that I can google.

I have side-details of this case which make it all so much worse. Death threats and suggestions to go visit doping critics, with their addresses and all. nasty, just nasty. Steer clear of this dad and his associates and lawyers.

I think in a case like this the parents should be made to undergo extensive psychological counseling. And the coach, if there is one, should be barred from coaching. As for the kid, he's had enough trouble. Just keep an eye on him once he understands why this isn't a good idea.

It's scary that someone so young can get access to drugs. (Whether it be banned substances used for sport of recreational drugs) And whoever provided him with the stuff definitely needs to re-think his/her game.

But isn't it better that the kid learns now that doping is no good?

All he's learnt is getting caught is no good.

It is not a stretch to think getting caught might well be punished within the "team". with a spanking. Or no diner before bed.

Times like these make me appreciate the parents I got born to. How about you?
I became exactly what I wanted to be, or was willing to work for. Those kids were born to be skaters, and winners. Talent or not, they need to perform. There was also a riot involving the kid sister. Whereabouts, tests, that sort of thing. Arrogant let alone ill-intended parents are really hard to deal with.
