He had bronchitis recently so this time around the field has a chance

Yeah he's not even appearing on that start list.

[edit]Belletti and Viviani are the names that jump out, maybe a couple of others. I wonder if Guardini rides.

Nice for Viviani, I wonder if he could get to be Liqui's sprinter for the Giro this year. More persuasive than Guarnieri or Sabatini for that slot.

Ya, since he got some nice wins already last season and with Chicchi and Bennati gone I expected him to get sprinter leadership this year and from this is looks like that might be the case.

Sabatini was actually pretty good in the Giro last year.

True he got some good placings against quality competition at the Giro but victories are missing from the whole season.

[edit] You can just about make out the Geox Jersey here, too. Not Dissimilar to the Farnese Vini, in fact.

It appears Rai have already upped their game, in the light of today's international coverage agreement.
63 minutes tv coverage and Paolo Bettini, for what is a relatively small Italian race.:)

oh great news then.too bad that petacchi wasn't here...it's mainly his race in the last decade.

Hope not. I have guarnieri AND sabatini in my CQ-team, but no viviani.

The race is up on cyclingtorrents.nl BTW. It's in Italian, but I'm sure you will get the gist of what is happening, even if you don't speak Italian. FYI it is the last hour of the race.

Ah crap. I find ongoing Schumacher fanboyism even more annoying than Lance's. Wasnt his era like 5 years ago

Cycling should stop bowing down to f1 as if it was a superior sport. Alonso gets the honour of presenting pink jersey and potentialy sponsoring a team. Stephen Roche talks about how amazing some f1 driver from the 90's is during tdf coverage. Now Schumacher gets to be in the peloton. I wonder what responce a normal hardworking joe would get for such a request:rolleyes:

Maybe cycling really is a loser sport. You push your body and pain barrier to the absolute limit day in day out, and then bow down to "athletes" (and i use that term very loosely) who let machines do that for them.

Is that really Michael Schumacher or is it just Stefan Schumacher misidentified by CN? Would be kind of strange if they were both on Miche for the same race (though possible I suppose as Michael Sch. has ridden races before).

Yeah i thought of that but was too quick to go off into a rant. Fail on my part. I would apreciate it if you could delete your last comment (or at leas the quote=the hitch part) so i can delete mine. otherwise, i will just end up looking like a plank.
