He was up there the other day so I'd say he's the big favourite.

Yea, those profiles make the race look a lot less... well... good than it is. Though it's a slightly disappointing profile given the amount of great climbs in the region, and the quality of climbers on the startlist. I guess this is a bit like the Vuelta a Burgos in its design, and heaven knows I love the Vuelta a Burgos.

Movistar has announced their line up for the race:

Rubén Plaza
Sergio Pardilla
Fran Pérez
Enrique Sanz
Marzio Bruseghin
Carlos Oyarzun
Ignatas Konovalovas
Branislau Samoilau

Is this the comeback race for Plaza? Building up for the Vuelta I presume.

Anyway lots of good climbers (Pardilla, Plaza, Bruseghin, Samoilau). It remains to be seen if any of them is on form.

Dan Martin should be riding the Brixia Tour as well. It will be interesting to see what form he has after a few weeks off.

I'd forgotten all about Charlie Wegelius.

Be interesting to see how Breschel goes having not gone to the tdf. Might have a plump on suitable stage win for him.

Yeah he will but he did not get one at Tour of Austria which was surprising. Could Visconti win overall???

Rumour is Kash will be riding for Astana starting August 1st.
i was hoping that was the reason :D

Kash needs somebody like Vino to learn from. and Vino needs a rider that can attack... this could be fun!
