20-24 July 2011 Brixia Tour

one of those italian little finest races which everybody loves.

Stage 1:ponte di Legno - Edolo (158Km)

Yea, those profiles make the race look a lot less... well... good than it is. Though it's a slightly disappointing profile given the amount of great climbs in the region, and the quality of climbers on the startlist. I guess this is a bit like the Vuelta a Burgos in its design, and heaven knows I love the Vuelta a Burgos.
 
Movistar has announced their line up for the race:

Rubén Plaza
Sergio Pardilla
Fran Pérez
Enrique Sanz
Marzio Bruseghin
Carlos Oyarzun
Ignatas Konovalovas
Branislau Samoilau

Is this the comeback race for Plaza? Building up for the Vuelta I presume.

Anyway lots of good climbers (Pardilla, Plaza, Bruseghin, Samoilau). It remains to be seen if any of them is on form.

I'd forgotten all about Charlie Wegelius.

Be interesting to see how Breschel goes having not gone to the tdf. Might have a plump on suitable stage win for him.
