Wow thats embarrassing, it's fitting he sits on the USA cycling selection committee. He's also a mentor to one of our prized local Jr. teams. This sport is so sad. I want a real hero.

The drug problem is with less than 2% of the riders. That's the UCI party line on anti-doping. This guy has ambitions, so it's all a big conspiracy.

Nepotism is the best way forward at USAC. If the stars align and one of the Juniors (and the parent's money) lasts long enough the familiarity pays off. The kid might make more than a low-end barista at the sport.

More Dylan Casey nepotism fun, http://velonews.competitor.com/2011...nebens-appeal-usacs-steve-johnson-says_192531 Comments are much better than the sham article.

Keep that scumbag away from juniors. Other than telling fun tales of traveling the world, he has nothing to offer anyone except for Novitsky.

He used to terrorize NorCal Masters races (perhaps he still does). Friends speculate about who might be on Joe's no-no list. DC comes up frequently.

The Weasel wants his riders to win no matter what level they race at.
Don't expect him to be on Joe's list. USAC will find a way to omit it if it was there.

That's just depressing.

I love the way it's presented in the notes as DC riding the TdF with Lance. He isn't in the Tour database as having ever started it!

At 17:00 in he is asked point blank about doping in the sport and essentially says it is a conspiracy story by the newspapers to sell more papers. And takes nearly 5 min to say so.

Unreal! and apologizes if this has been posted

"the media has decided it's going to be a big story!" L'equippe has sold a lot more papers since they focused on doping.

Which explains the popularity of the Clinic section of the forum and why CN must keep it and not ban all talk on doping and why they won't shut it down. If they did the forum would soon drop off by that factor of posts/hits which as we know would impact the other sections.

This also brings up the modern NewsPapers, whether it be CN or some other cycling website and to some extent now Twitter the ultimate headline news feed. We all know how a certain someone used it exclusively and most likely had a financial interest in it as well till some feds started following him a bit closer than he'd like, imagine this ex-rider might of used it just like the other newspapers do to gain readers. Not that its illegal (I think) but I think most here get the picture.

The question posed to Casey was whether doping in Cycling is prevalent. Whether or not doping talk spurs readership is an evasion of the question.

Casey said the prevalence of doping was exaggerated (a lie) because people like to talk about and read about doping. (True)

The truth is that doping is many times worse than any media outlet reports because they only report on the tip of the iceberg and a lawsuit by a LA type person or organization would wipe out any of the benefits of increased readership and because of this the media is afraid of their own shadow.

Yes he side steped the question but didn't deny it either. Overly exaggerated from the statement that its prevalant.

Not heard much from Mr. Casey since the USPS walls came tumbling down. Anyone seen interviews or comments recently?

Dylan Casey

Guy is a Dou$&E.
He used to get his EPO from Gaggioli.
it was the Nor Cal connection which Levi was also involved in.

Chad Gerlach also mentioned it on Facebook and was quickly taken down. Nevertheless, not too hard to quiet CG these days.
Probably a rock or 2 will do.

If you can manage to ride a bicycle without taking drugs, you are a hero.

Isn't that scumbag a google employee? If so, he may very well be behind the google sabotage of Bikezilla's blog.
