2010 Int. Österreich Rundfahrt

Or the Tour of Austria, a favourite race of mine, and if the other Tour is too much for you, there is always this.

Startlist - cyclingnews

Stage two ends on the Kitzbüheler Horn

Stage four takes in the Grossglockner - Franz Joseph Höhe:

Brutal.

André Greipel should dominate the sprints, and for Radio Shack, I wouldn't bet against Tiago Machado for stages 3 or 5. If Visconti can not lose too much time on stages 2 and 4 then he could be a favourite for the win.

And Riccardo Riccò is racing!

I pretty much agree with you there. It's sort of a race for people who have been left out of the Tour and think they shouldn't have been to prove themselves.

So Machado definitely. Greipel may be in a 'screw you guys, I'm off to Lotto' mood, but I doubt it - I think he's determined to have more wins than anyone (esp. a certain Manxman) this season.

Don't count out previous winners Devolder and Albasini though, the mountains won't be ridden that hard. And I fancy Chris Froome to do a good ride.

Apparently Michael Barry is racing the Tour de France and the Österreich Rundfahrt AT THE SAME TIME.

Lovely as the Kitbüheler Horn is, it's worth remembering that the Tour of Austria "only" finishes up at Alpenhaus. So 7.5km of infernal pain, as opposed to 10km.

Riccó attacked two km from the finish and achieved a gap of 53 seconds to Pardilla and Sella:rolleyes:

Good win for ricco... I hope he is doing everything fair now or at least as fair as the rest of them... he's an entertaining character and a talented rider so I hope to see him in the big races...

gusev seems to be doing pretty good since he made his sort of comeback....although i suppose he was never suspend just in exile but he has been posting some good result after being missing from the top for a long time.

this is not the clinic... but ricco has served his suspension so for me he is the same as everyone else now... same with sella :S.

Woo, vai Riccardo!

Good to see there's still racing going on somewhere in the world. :p Would've liked to see Ricco at the Tour, though, he'd LIGHT IT UP with riding like that!

Maybe next year.

I don't like Riccò. He's about as big a douche as it's humanly possible to be without carrying a drawing of Mohammed to hold aloft when he wins stages.

However, I think Sella has to ride on the attack and keep getting up there and winning just so he can get to the end of a stage without being doused in phlegm, and I feel bad for him for that, since he did far more for the anti-doping fight than Riccò ever did or ever will do.
