First 22 km is all uphill. Total elevation gain of about 1200 meters. The rest pretty much downhill until the last ~25 km. At the end there is a 13km climb, short downhill section, and an uphill finish.

Should be exciting. A stage for TGBM

Nufenen is a great climb, but it will be very cold and nasty when they reach the upper slopes tomorrow. Anyone not prepared for a little suffering is going to get burned :D

will there be live net stream?

Whether there will be an English stream I know not. There was a, if rather poor quality if memory serves, French stream for the Tour of Romandie. The same broadcaster also transmits ToS, so I guess there will be a French stream at least, maybe a (Swiss) German one too.

I know I have hyped him a lot lately, but I am very interested in seeing how Artem Ovechkin goes in the mountains.

I swear he is like a little tiny Jan Ullrich clone. Even their weigh issues are the same. During the off-season (2010), he ballooned 13kg and reached for him a record high 70kg (he is 1.73cm tall).

After a horrific start to the year, he has lost all the extra cushion and is now back at his ideal weight of 57kg’s. I think he is timed to perfection for Le’Tour.

He really possesses enormous potential.

ovechkin is 173 and 61 kg in good shape, not 57. that would be insane considering his itt

I think we all should be glad Phil and Paul aren't commentating. I think them fawning over Radioshack as they lead the peleton up Crans Montana would of been intolerable. Should be interesting how Bottle and klodi go!

Crans Montana isn't the most inspiring of climbs (though the peak is pretty), but I like the shape of the finish profile there. Reminds me of the excellent Pescocostanzo stage in the 2008 Giro.

Anyone know what the finale is like? A wild guess from the profile says 3km @ 6.5-7% average. But the last km looks like it ramps up a bit more, which probably means closer to 10%. Very hard to pick a winner.

That is one hard start ... some natural selection will be underway early.
Do you think that most of the peloton will catch back up later after the initial shock?

BMC to be aggressive go in the break and attack and fight for every classification such as mountains and sprint. Just like last year. Schlecks and TGBM will show who are the big boys.
