2011 Tour de Suisse, Stage 8: Tübach - Schaffhausen, 167.3 km

It's been an exciting TdS so far, and the ITT on Sunday shall finally give us a winner.

However, Cav and co. probably would like one last go before the NC's and Le Tour, and this is it.

Stage 8 brings the riders to Schaffhausen, where a bunch sprint is expected.
Can Cavendish finally win a stage in this Tour? Or will it be the World Champ who reigns supreme?

(Or will somebody else win? That could happen too! :p)

Stage for Cav?

I bet Cav won't be in top10. Today, i think, the situation will be like few days ago with strong sprinters like Hushovd, Bozic, Sagan or Van Garderen:D

Wow, a flat stage, for sprinters.
It has been funny to see many sprinters such as Cav whinge about how stage races are not catering for sprinters.

I believe a breakaway near to the two mountain passes can make it to the finish line-some good rollers like Marcus Burghardt, Gert Steegmans-even Chavanel can try out..

Possible. Burghardt could do a 50km attack from the finish though I think the sprinters will try to keep it together.

Arguably they have put the most boring stage on paper on a Saturday where crowds and tv audiences would be at their largest. Seems odd.

Same here. The bunch won't reform fully.

[edit] Boonen, Sagan, Rojas.

Hope for Greipel or Boonen. Sagan would also be cool. Just no whiny bitches please. Yes, Cav that means you.

can't say I'm too dissapointed I wont be home for this one :p

first weekend home in a while, crappy 30mph winds n rain, so indoor day it is... so i'm disappointed.
hopefully eurosport won't extend the tennis as per normal

and hopefully there'll be some fireworks over those final two hills to make it interesting

cav will get dropped on those let's face it.
sagan for the win.
Quite wet...caution in the bunch today which bods well for the break, but if it dries by the finishing Ks Cav (much to every ones dismay) could be there as it's mostly downhill to the finish from the Cat 4 (about 12 Ks). Unless the final K is another one of the those top-o-the-hill numbers. Then Sagen, Thor, Booen etc...

Breakaway:
Jaroslaw Marycz (Team Saxo Bank SunGard)
Luca Paolini (Katusha Team)
Francisco Ventoso (Equipe Movistar)
Jan Barta (Team NetApp)

5 min.

Barta was in the early break at the last stage of the Tour of California. When Mortensen and Tjallingii caught the break and kept on going, only Barta could stay with them.

For the finale I'll be rooting for Thor or Sagan.
