Another flat stage before the first rest day and a trip back to Italy where the real race will begin.

Usually we would be discussing how cav isn't in good shape because he failed to win the first sprint stage again, but that's not the case this time. will he make it 2 in a row? that is the question.

Is there anybody there to challenge Cav?
Sadly, I doubt it.
We're probably looking at top 5 placings, Bos, Farrar etc.
Can Thor get top 5 or even podium??

I just hope we don't lose any GC guys in the inevitable crashes tomorrow.

Yeah! Give my country a change, would ya!

It's gotta be a weird stage though.
Dubbed the WW Special it is planned to be ridden in homage of Wouter Weylandt. However, after the tragic passing of Horsens Mayor, Jan Trøjborg, the Giro will also remember him.

I heard about that Horsens mayor's death, absolutely horrific.

Indeed. Watching the streets of Herning made me appreciate my own home town. It's not all bad 😱

Hope that Tyar Farrar takes this stage, seeing as it is is being ridden in hommage of Wouter Weylandt, and Farrar will realy want to win it because of that. But unless Cav has some kind of problem its hard to see past him for the win.

Hope so too, but he messed up his pre-season thinking he'd make it as a classics man.

He does that every year. And he never has much to show for it.

This is officially named the WW memorial stage, right?

Well it worked for me today. Then again, my time zone also helped. Up at 0600hrs MDT, back to sleep at 0730hrs.

[my edit] 0730hrs MDT was when the peloton was about 70km from the finish FWIW...

Really hope so, Farrar is a great guy off the bike apparently too, would be great to see him do this for his friend

What are you complaining about? This is basically you having 2 hours to play - spot Rujano.

yes, but even that is boring. the only really exciting thing is, that my hero is in the race

Maybe i'm looking way too much ahead but if cavendish wins today and sky beats bmc by 8 seconds in ttt, cavendish will get maglia rosa

I can see it happening actually

Garmin could be a factor for rasmussen as well too
