2013 Critérium du Dauphiné Stage 4: Villars-les-Dombes Parc des Oiseaux 32.5 km ITT

PROFIL.jpg

1. David Veilleux (Canada/Europcar) in 12u00m22s
2. Gianni Meersman (België/Omega Pharma-Quick Step) op 1m56s
3. Tony Gallopin (Frankrijk/RadioShack-Leopard) op 1m57
4. Alejandro Valverde (Spanje/Movistar) allen z.t.
5. Warren Barguil (Frankrijk/Argos-Shimano)
6. Jakob Fuglsang (Denemarken/Astana)
7. Geraint Thomas (Groot-Brittannië/Sky ProCycling)
8. Angel Madrazo (Spanje/Movistar Team)
9. Richie Porte (Australië/Sky ProCycling)
10. Alberto Contador (Spanje/Team Saxo-Tinkoff)
11. Froome

Normally this is a very easy win for Tony but he has some health problems (http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/martin-continues-in-dauphine-with-intestinal-problems) so who will it be? Still der tony or one of the skyborgs?

It appears that they are already making a deal for who can win tomorrow and thursday:

A. Contador.

That's optimistic. I'm hoping to see Rogers back in topform. He could win this if Tony is sick. But wouldn't mind Bertie slapping the skyborgs around a bit. Dark horse is Castroviejo

Too flat for Porte, Froome and Contador. T Martin is sick.

I didn't even realise he's in the race :eek::eek:

I don't think he's gonna win though.

Anybody good at math?

Based your estimated speed, Veilleux would end up about 26 seconds ahead of Froome in GC - Froome 37.5 minutes vs 39 for Veilleux in the ITT. Veilleux's result in the Canadian TT championships isn't very impressive. Might the other results have been skewed by him taking the ITT as a "rest day" given that he was not a GC contender or a threat to win the ITT? He will certainly be giving it everything he has tomorrow.

Just how sick is the Panzer? He would have to be at death's door not to win this.

Martin to win, but without enough of a margin to worry the GC boys.

Edit: I do love a totally unbiased poll.

The Dawg winning this would be a very, very, very bad thing for cycling

reasonably interesting way of thinking. I'd like to read an explanation even in the other forum section

Why? You know you wont agree with each other and neither of you will be able to prove your point of view, so it will just be arguing for the sake of it.
