On paper it seems good but I think both Jafferau and the stage itself are too short to create real fireworks. And many will save their energy for Sunday's stage, which should be decisive.

It will be good fun though, my money is on Betancur to launch an attack from the earlier part of Jafferau and win.

The Italian trio of Pozzo, Santa and Nibali to distance the rest

You forgot Majka already? :eek::eek:

It´s funny, the guy looks to be one of the strongest, his force is the steep climbs, and yet people have doubts.
Get ready for some surprises.

I sort of hope Lampre don't waste Niemiec's GC position if Scarponi gets dropped. Too much to ask though.

He'll be in the second group together with Evans, Uran, Betancur and Scarponi.

1st: Pozzovivo
2nd: Santambrogio
3rd: Nibali
...
4th: Betancur
5th: Evans
6th: Uran
7th: Majka
8th: Scarponi
...

Uran will cement his leadership position and take another stage win.

I don't think you get much more cemented than this - he's third on GC and Wiggins is away home

I think tomorrow is the last chance for Scarponi. Once they could sacrifice Niemiec, but now if Scarponi is dropped the second time before Niemiec , Przemek will be allowed to ride his race. He deserves it, he has a great season, since Tirreno he is riding consistant in every race.

Damn that climb is steep. I think GC guys will wait until the last 2,3 km.

If you blow up too early damage can be severe.

I put my money on betancourt. He just needs to win a stage in this giro.

I wonder how Henao will do? And can majka keep it up?

really? Do you think he would be allowed to get away the other day if he was the outright leader?

So yea, he can cement the leadership rather than being defaulted in the position.

Point is, his position as leader is secure, therefore he does not need to cement it by winning another stage or whatever.

Fascinating stage tomorrow, very interested in how Uran perfroms under the pressure of leadership.
I think he will do very well to finish with the main GC contenders tomorrow

well first of all, i'd rather wait to see if this stage will even take place.

will they ride over sestriere? i don't think so

uran most likely to take the win again, never been that strong. i hope for something special from santa and betancur
