I have a slight gut feeling that Purito won't mark Valverde's wheel entirely to finish one spot behind him

thanks for info on ullissi as i was thinking he might like this stage.

I don't know if he is injured, maybe he just lost time due to the crash and then saved himself for tomorrow. no idea

This is surely one for the breakaway. Very hard stage on Monday, and as this is too hard for the sprinters Saxo will probably lead the peleton as slowly as possible once the break is established. Hansen, Losada, Zandio and Landa are my picks for tomorrow, but I expect there will be a fierce fight the first hour to get into the final break.

Antón to go again, Rodríguez to catch and pass him in the final 100m.

...and Valverde to pass Purito in the final 10m :D

Just remember Arrate and Canolich last year ;)

No reason for Saxo to chase an unthreatening break unless they think that Roche is in such good form that he can challenge at the finish.

roche will surely fancy his own chances of hanging onto red here and have his team work

With the way this Vuelta has gone so far, I think there's about 15 guys with a winning chance on this one.

If there's someone threatening in the break. If there isn't, they'd probably rather not burn their matches before Monday.

Gilbert or break.

I mean, looking at the profile, I thought Gilbert too. Then I watched the videos again, and remembered what a finale this is. It's Mur de Huy on crack. Maybe with his 2011 form he would've been in with a shot. Not now.

When there are bonus seconds at the finish like this, it's likely that a team with a suited GC contender will try to control the stage.
The most of previously lost, amongst the top contenders, could be compensated (or gained if there was no loss) in only couple of hundreds of meters including the bonus.
So, Katusha starring tomorrow.

Purito, Moreno and Valverde to be top 3

Im not picking on this post in particular and I know theres different types of climbs but how long before the people who look like they are in form start becoming favourites. I could be wrong and Moreno looks good but im not sure about the others. Would liked to have seen more of the tour so far. That's my excuse if im wrong.
