Actually this stage looks good for both Henao & Betancur:D
If either Porte or Contador want to make their mark-they ought to attack where the 9% slopes are & somehow drop the soul out of Henao.....

It's usually the Samu show but he's a bit behind this time.

Contador & Henao the favourites.

why? Like in CI last month, Sky is in the position to make a one, two finish tomorrow by sending one or the other GC placed riders. Porte or Haeno will force heavy reactions from the others and possibly allowing the better ITTer of the two to take time on Contador. Of course Alberto may have a surprise for all of us. He has been here before and we know he is the type to will attack if he feels like it.

Sanchez or Henao FTW.
Hard stage coming up. Many quality riders hopelessly behind. Sky will limited resources.

Could be a must see stage.

Those where all without the presence of Alberto

And Porte ;)

He was in one of the 3 but he was riding for saxo, that doesn't count.

He was at 17 minutes :eek:

he doesn't look to have the form to win this time

it will be a hard day to control for sky, i hope there will be attack before arrate. because he lost today, i'd like betancur to win tomorrow. he seems in very good shape. i expect also attacks from sergio and nairo.alberto and richie probably will neutralize each other again

looks like it will be another great stage tomorrow

4 skys. will be tough for them. Maybe some second tier GC riders can turn the race upside down.

Lampre, Ag2r and Movistar have weapons to make this a hard race. Hope they're up to it.

Do sky only have four riders? If one is doing water bottles all day (JTL presumably?) then kyrienka would be hard pushed to string out the peleton on his own. Porte and henao will have to look after themselves which i think they'll do just fine. One attacks early and the other follows wheels till he wants to attack just like CI

They essentially only had 4 domestiques in TDF too and did pretty well...

a pace set by kiriyenka for those 3kms prevent any attacks, sky could try send someone up in the break but not sure hey do,

stage does suit someone like porte, but maybe spilak can do well

4 domestiques who have been soft pedalling for the most part, plus others will do plenty of the work movistar for example.Sky should keep powder dry as long as possible send either Dombrowski or JTL in the break(not that they will mind).

Will probably be some Sky rider who takes it (Henao or Porte), but would be nice if Betancur or Quintana could get the better of Sky.

Also, I predict Txurruka to be in the break. :D

Sky will play the team card. Porte will take a wait and see approach unless Henao looks to be in trouble. Should be another close finish. Many of the GC riders seem to be at about the same level at the moment.

Interesting comment from Porte, seems he had no trouble at all and sounds confident:

Porte, who crossed the line in sixth place, was relaxed after the stage and took confidence from his ride.

“That wasn’t as hard as everyone said it was,” said Porte. “We’ll see about tomorrow. I had no problems going with the accelerations. Now we have the jersey to protect, but we have a strong team for that.”
