2014 Tour de France Stage 21: Évry - Paris Champs-Élysées 137.5km

Stage details

Distance: 137.5km

Category: Flat

Highest point: 172m

For the second year in a row, the Tour de France's final stage has been put back to the evening and will culminate in an atmospheric sprint on the Champs Élysées around 7.15pm. Also like last year, the peloton will ride past the Louvre before starting the first of nine laps of the finishing circuit and pass around the Arc de Triomph rather than turning just short. After the 80km exhibition ride from the satellite town of Évry – a chance for the jersey wearers to sup champagne for the cameras – the pace will gradually ratchet up as the sprinters' teams prepare to light the fireworks.

like that they kept last years routes not sure if time they race makes a difference might actually be better for the crowds to have it earlier so as to get home.

Interesting sprint, kittel probably favourite to repeat

I take it the argument against Kittel is that he's still recovering from the Mountains stages and the likes of Kristoff, Sagan and Greipel might be in the better shape.

The reality is last year he won this stage directly after 3 days in the Alps. He's had two days to recover this year. I see no reason he's wont win bar a crash.

Kittel has pretty much looked ravaged since stage six. Hopefully it stays that way.

Can definitely see Sagan do something crazy. Better a glorious fail like stage seven than the nervy, conservative stuff since

After Kittel's first 3 wins it just doesn't seem like he has ''it'' anymore. He won't be good enough tomorrow.

Démare and Greipel simply aren't good enough this year. Coquard and Renshaw are good, but aren't winners, at least not yet.

Pretty much leaves Kristoff and Sagan for the win, the last one is under these circumstances the best bet of the two the way I see it. Last chance to get his win and it seems like he has the most left after the mountains. Sagan @15 seems definitely worth it.

Plus I've been waiting far too long to see a new Sagan cheer.

Not saying he'll win, but if I was to chose an outsider for tomorrow then I'd go for Bennati.

Getting stronger as the race goes on and could provide a perfect ending to Saxo's very successful Plan B Tour.

I wouldnt be surprised to see the whole Tinkov team to ride as a group 30sec behind the winner holding there hands and celebrating so there is a good chance Bennati wont be going for the W.

I will stick my head on the line and say Kittel.

Edit: Could someone start a thread for the women's La Course race? I'm on a mobile currently. Thanks.

It's live on Eurosport.

Ha. After the last 3 weeks of frustration, if he won the cheer would probably be his most glorious yet.

Can't see it happening though. I hope I'm wrong.
