There will be time bonuses for this stage again?

I would say katusha is happy for a break. If giant wants to get it back, bunch sprint

Yes time bonuses. Last year's stage was a sprint but it was Gerrans, Meersman, and Dumoulin in the top 3, all guys who thrive with late bumps in the road. Howard and Ferrari will have their hands full.

Don't think Giant wants to chase for 218km with the little kicker at the end. A break will take this most likely.

Its time for the tongue man again, only now without a chase imo.

Lot of guys out of GC, lot of guys will be tired from today, not a nailed on sprint even if they bring everything back.

My money's on the break.

Alberto Contador was freezing at the finish line but had these comments:

“It was a day of cycling when it’s hardest. The truth is that I had good legs and perhaps I should have tried something else, but at the end of the day, I’m happy because my legs are fine. Tactically, you’re always wiser after having crossed the finish line. The race is still open, there are still three stages to go and important things can happen. The crucial thing now is not getting cold, recover as best as possible and tomorrow will be another day. From here to Barcelona, the terrain makes it more difficult to attack but it’s not impossible,” says Alberto Contador.

So he is planning to attack.. But when? There are two options, tomorrow or Sunday.

I doubt Contador can drop Purito in the hills but it will certainly be funny to see him give it a try. A breakaway is a perfect scenario for Tinkoff otherwise Purito might even snap a couple more bonus seconds.

Won't quote it because it's a huge image, but thanks for posting that zoomed in view of the last few kms Netserk.

If the GC guys want to make this stage interesting, I think the profile is steep enough to do it; thing is, a select group of GC guys will just favor Katusha (Dani Moreno) even more, so I'm not sure anyone is motivated to do that.

who can take this from a breakway?

Voeckler.

Edit: a couple other possibilities, Lulu, Voigt, Przemyslaw, Anacona, Chaves, Martin (from a late break).

They've got plenty of strong options for the break. Landa, Westra, Tiralongo, Kessiakoff would all be good options. Aru and Fugslang are probably a little too close on GC.

Westra would probably be their best bet IMO.

Is Tiralongo ever going to get his form back? He's been awful ever since the Giro last year. Same with Kessiakoff.

The profile looks to be a promising for a long distance attack. Mountain closes together and short distance after descent. If contador wants to attack, maybe tomorrow will be the day. Lanciano siesta..:D

It's time for Keldermerckx to stop playing with the guys ahead of him and show them a world of pain or something!

Too bad he crashed today. He's looking really good right now.
