Really interesting stage. The most likely scenario will be a breakaway, if you look at the profile.

BUT!

In the last 3 km, there is a really hard steep Muro, de Barrio los Ibañez. 1.6 km at 6.7%, but there are some 700 meters with some really steep parts in it, till 24%!

So it could be that the master (Murito) and the great (Valverde) will be clearing it out who's the best at this.

What do you think?

After seeing that climb, it doesn't look that hard (or long namely).

And based on the last days, you can't rely on the profiles in this Vuelta for 100%.

Talk about potentially destroying a great design.
Cut the last 10-15km away and this would be a perfect stage for serious racing.
I fear this will be another pathetic uphill type sprint.
My expectation is very low, can only be positively surprised I guess.

Come on ! this is a well designed interesting stage. It's not its fault all the "important decisive stages" are just silly MTFs. This stage is well drawn. Could go to a breakaway, could go to a Gilbert/Gerrans, could go to a Valverde, could even go to a Matthews. don't let the way this Vuelta is generally abismally drawn cloud your judgement of a perfectly respectable stage.

I'm not interested in that sh!tty little hill at the end.
I wanna see serious racing on the middle part with descending being the deciding factor. If we get that, I will take my words back.

The stage is also put in the wrong place, with 3 important mountain stages after it.

Davide Rebellin was 8th on that stage

In 1994 he achieved his first GT stage podium. The youngest participant in this Vuelta is Merhawi Kudus. He was born January 1994. :D
