The route is similar to last year's with key features being the flat opening TT in Ljubljana and the MTF to Trije Kralji (Three kings). A hm to a pretty hard Strma Reber climb in stage 2, that is too far from the finish line tho.

Some names for the GC: Nieve, Brajkovic, Silin, Pellizotti, Polanc, Ulissi, Rogina, Roglic, Bongiorno, Zardini, Torres, Firsanov, Golcer, Kvasina.

And keeps it. Puccio came second with Ulissi third. Very small differences tho. No great TT riders in this field. Last year Matthews went almost 20s faster and the year before Tuft went almost 30s faster on the same course.

Ulissi is the best of the GC guys, but Lampre aims to do well with the home rider Polanc, if he's feeling good. And judging by the TT result he's fine. Of course if Ulissi is better and he's in position to take the win, he'll take it. Golcer did a surprisingly very good TT. Even himself was shocked by this result. He's never done this well against the clock. Looks to be in great form and a man to watch on Saturday. He is a two time former winner of this race. Polanc and Roglic are also in very good position. I really hope both battle for the win. Pellizotti, Nieve and Zardini aren't far behind, while Bongiorno lost some time as expected. I don't know what to think about Brajkovic's performance. His TT is really bad lately and even in this field he barely managed to catch the top50. I can't believe this guy was one of the best TT riders in the World just a few years back. I root for the guy because he really seems to love the sport, but he had all the bad luck in this world during his career. He always stays positive and always talks how he's in great shape, but never really delivers.

should be a good test for Chaparro to show what he is really capable of. 7th in Japan was a great result, considering that it basically was his first race with the team (and I guess Mirsamad's level is comparable to that of the favorites in Slovenia)

This. I'm really curious to see what Didier can do. In Korea he had a bunch of stages where he could increase his stamina.

Should be able to finish top-5. Or perhaps win the mountain stage.

As far as the GC is concerned Jan Polanc ftw, they gave him number 1 in Lampre for a reason :)

Torres also to do well.
