The World Champs was fought out between three flat domestiques. Sport can be be unpredictable at the best of times...........okay one can TT one can sprint and the one that won looks like having a decent future in the sport...............And so the days of the World Champ being a flat domestique in a climbing classic begin
Trentin went into the race as the designated leader of the Italian team. I doubt he’s gone to a single classic in the last 5 years not as a protected rider. Even when he was surrounded with race winners with Quickstep. The World Champs was fought out between three flat domestiques. Sport can be be unpredictable at the best of times...........okay one can TT one can sprint and the one that won looks like having a decent future in the sport...............
Not to mention a sick flat domestique. Idiot went and got himself sick from all the celebration...And so the days of the World Champ being a flat domestique in a climbing classic begin
You talk like he's out -and-out favorite, but I fail to see how? He's in good form, but so are Woods, Fuglsang and Yates. The race is open.Even with no Ala or Roglic, Valverde will STILL find a way to f*ck his most obvious victory of the season up.
Riders who like short-ish but steep climbs like Yates, Woods or Fuglsang could steal his thunder him with 2 km to go.
Maybe. I just had a quick look at it, but it actually looks like a pretty tight fight for the Top 6 (allowing 5 starters to go to the Olympics) indeed.Fighting for country rankings for Olympics?
In Italy it's live on RaiSport from 14:30 CET so I'm not sure PMG will have their live stream.Anyone know if this is/will be live on YouTube like yesterday's race?
