They should just back off. Novak has been of the stronger climbers in that chase group so had a good chance to win here. Hes got a better chance than Landa has of beating Carapaz and Hindley to the stage.

I think thats a fair assessment. I probably get just a bit annoyed by the absurd claim that he just needs to be freed to be this super exciting climbing superstar when he is clearly not.

I mean there's no real risk to his podium unless he blows spectacularly. Nibali is 5 minutes behind him and climbing worse.
