This is the kind of course that would benefit from much smaller teams, like in the Olympics. If the big countries had 5 or maximum 6 riders it would've probably lead to a much more interesting race.

Apparently his wife is the Australian ambassador to the Holy See.Everyone's favourite Vaticany rider right behind the commisaire car!
it's not as much fun as it could be, the guy was Dutch until about 5 minutes agoI'm keeping my eye on the Vatican guy, just because he's such a novelty. (It's a Sunday, eh, maybe the pope can say a prayer for him during mass.)
Edit: just found out Vatican guy is 42, he's gonna need a lot of prayers.

Seriously what the hell are France even doing
I googled him and apparently he holds three citizenships - Dutch cause he was born in the Netherlands, Australian because his wife is Australian, and Vatican because he's lived in Rome since 2020. Interesting, and I guess it's good he's at least lived in Rome for a few years and has competed for Vatican City since 2021.it's not as much fun as it could be, the guy was Dutch until about 5 minutes ago
Still some Brits who took that whole Brexit thing too literallyDisgrace how the UK skips these championships. Not like there isn’t sufficient strength in depth these days.

He's not a stellar rider by any means, but I think it's always nice to learn something new and interesting about an athlete.
