2026 Tour de France CQ game

on wednesday i was going to ask if i could sell him. he is still touch and go.........

Nope:
And that's it. No selected riders for enhanced points, no changing your selection for each stage, no buying replacements halfway through. As simple, and as brutal, as can be.

Brutal, but if his DS can't swap him out, neither can you.

There are so many games elsewhere that I have started, but need team tweaking stage by stage or race by race, and I forget or miss a deadline, and its not worth continuing. That's why I prefer these watchmaker games: select the parts, set them going, then just sit back and let them do what they will do.

A good strategy to follow in those games is to not do what I do. Of course, unlike the Spring classics where I can express my genius unencumbered, I'm here artificially constrained by the limits of the startlist. At least that'll be my excuse when I come in 20th.
20th might have been a bit ambitious in retrospect. The rest of my post is spot on.

Stage 10
Le Lioran without the comeback (or with a different one)

Green points
Much of this game will be determined by the choices made between Seixas, Lipowitz and Ayuso. Does today tell us much about the points balance between them?

Stage 11
When a sprint stage doesn't have trains lining it out for the last 8km or so, you get very different names at the top.

Green points

And now I've heard that Philipsen has been relegated, so I need to recalculate all that...

So, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted:

Standings
Jake Stewart and Piet Allegaert came in 27th and 28th respectively today. I hope they raced it out properly, recognising the importance of it, because that is why Madrazo is in this top ten, and Leadbelly isn't.

Yellow points

Philipsen, eventually, is confirmed to have moved above Merlier in the points standings, which is more impactful than anything else, outside of stage points, today. (sometimes I have to report those that I have omitted here, that just moved 1 or 2 points, just to have a table for this part of the update.

It's crazily close in the lower half of the top ten but the top four have been the top 4 since stage 6, and still have a bit of a buffer zone. Total Package is the latest to make a large jump to sit just behind them.

Something is off. It says I'm in the top 10? My position is always halfway the table, not top 10. Luckily upcoming stages won't boost me so order can be restored.

Time for Jordan Jegat to implement operation 'Oscar Pereiro' to get my team out of the gutter.

Yellow points
Pidcock, and most of yesterday's changes, are undone.

Daily swing

Seixas overtaking Ayuso also mattered quite a bit. Your host is quietly pleased about that.

Everyday I check my daily point change against that of @DJW, the pair of us having quite a gap ahead of the rest in the 4 Seasons challenge. I think this has been the biggest gain either of us has had over the other in the Tour game so far.

Standings

@Leadbelly takes back a large chunk of @MADRAZO's lead: only 8 points in it now (Verona moves up, Quinn drops down).
@hayneplane gets properly onto the podium in the first change of top three members since stage 6.

The timegaps from 3rd to 7th on GC are still very small, and any change in position there will be a swing of 60 to 120 points, so the densely packed sections of the table could still see plenty of change.
