If i have gone from head of the swingers the day before yesterday, to bottom of the swingers yesterday, doesnt that make me the swingerest?

in a population of nearly 7 billion surely only one knows why Pidders was in the break yesterday. i was screaming down the radio at him.

our lawyers are in heated discussion. and why do i have the wrong paret pointre?

Jordan Jegat gaining another two spots in the GC today. At this rate he'll be maillot jaune just in time for Paris. The math doesn't lie.

Stage 15

The end of the 1-2 era, and an unexpected stage winner

Green points

Once again, the big points are taken by riders that no-one picked by reason of cost.

I guess I should make a theoretical team for Evenepoel, similar to the Del Toro one.

Pidders is actually celebrating being in the break three days in a row and says it is some kind of record.
In almost the same breath he then says he blew up in the last 5km and really struggled.
No wonder Ineos sacked him.
I am doing everything i can to sack him.

Or can we have points for 'knucklehead in the breakaway'?

I've heard he plans to go solo for the entire stage tomorrow. How crazy is that ?

So similar to the Del Toro team, there will now be another team below the table, Remco en zijn vrienden (Apologies if Google translate has misled me)

None of us chose Evenepoel presumably a combination of thinking he was too expansive and having made conclusions from his early season climbing performances. But if anyone had, it's not unreasonable to imagine a team wit hhim and the most popular possible combination of 7 other riders within the remaining 1772 points. So that team would be:
EVENEPOEL Remco
AYUSO PESQUERA Juan
CARAPAZ MONTENEGRO Richard Antonio
VAN EETVELT Lennert
TRATNIK Jan
QUINN Sean
WALKER Max
ALLEGAERT Piet
and at the moment they would be on 1385 points, with only Madrazo and Leadbelly ahead of them.

That closely match pairing at the top of the table, Madrazo and Leadbelly, have a spending overlap of 3837 points (Seixas, Ayuso, Kooij, Carapaz and Ven Eetvelt)

That leaves 3 riders on each team to establish a difference:
Madrazo: Quinn, Stewart, Walker
Leadbelly: Verona, Dhondt, Allegaert.

Quinn and Verona each have 6 stage points, which is why they are tied on green points, and these two sit at the moment 20th and 24th on GC, which is why there are 11 points between the teams. That 4 place gap hides a 15 minute odd advantage of Quinn over Verona, so it would require Verona to be in a break, or Quinn to be in a long-distanced gruppetto, or an impressive stage placing by Dhondt or Allegaert (unlikely given the remaining profiles) to change the positions of the top pair.

Or a DNF by one of the six riders that distinguish one team from the other.

So even if my glorious unique pick Uijtdebroeks was still up there somewhere on the GC, it wouldn't have put me in any respectable position. My 2 minute team gets what it deserves, I guess.

If he were in yellow, you would be in the lead.

We have been relatively unaffected by DNFs, compared to previous games: only Uijtdebroeks (a unique pick) and Merlier (who had already given a very respectable return in terms of stage points) have dropped out among expensive picks, and only Avoriaz has more than 2 of his team not entering Week 3.

Quite surprising that Ayuso is so much more common in the top of the rankings than Merlier when they basically cost the same and there are only 25 points between them right now.

People picking Ayuso over Merlier are perhaps way more inclined to pick other GC riders, and vice versa. As seen by at least six teams having Merlier AND Kooij. While many Ayuso teams seem to have paired Ayuso with Seixas or Lipowitz (or Uijtdebroeks).

I picked Merlier, because his stage results seemed „safe“ to me, while Ayusos GC seemed uncertain. I thought it was likely he would drop out like Giro or Vuelta last year. I was wrong, but that was my thinking.
Also I wanted someone I could cheer for on all kinds of stages.

Speaking of: Today was my day to shine, but its not looking so good with Tarling and Hoole in 2nd and 5th ATM, they will probably not score much. Tarling could give a top10 though.

That's not the kind of shakeup that benefits me I would have liked to see. Ayuso entering the freefall he's been threatening, on the other hand, could win me the game if it happens...

Four seasons also wide open again given that AC and DJW both have Lipo.

Awful for Lipowitz. Not sure there's much room for Ayuso to slip down the GC though. Skjelmose can pass him sure but then Ayuso has 3'30'' on Pidcock/Martinez which should be enough. Would take something truly wild for him to drop below Jegat/Voisard/etc.

With the way his form is trending I can see a total collapse on the final mountain stage happening.

Stage 16

The ITT: consolidation for Evenepoel and Pogacar, and disaster for Lipowitz and those that picked him.

Green points

Yet again, missing out on the biggest scorers
