31.8 Handlebar - No Taper

Hi all

I'm 6'4" and have always wished my handlebars were chunkier so my monster paws could grip them better.

So... does anyone know of a 31.8 handlebar in 44 or 46cm that does not taper down? Meaning the bar is 31.8 it's whole length. I'm planning to use this with a Ritchey adjustable road stem.

Any links to manufacturesrs sites or to online specials would be appreciated.

Have a great weekend

The current crop of Brake/Shifter bodies and their clamps require the taper to be mounted properly - would not fit on the 31.8 section of bar.

Have you tried double wrapping your handlebars?
IE - Using two layers of HB Tape per side.

Tyler Hamilton did that once to help with a shoulder booboo.
More Comfy
But big and beefy too - which is what you are seeking.

Double wrap is also standard for cobbles

I have whopper paws too, (and a 47 hoof) and double wrap, I suggest you make sure the inner is not a spongy cork (but I use that on the outside) because 2 layers of that is too much, so a cheap crappy vinyl is fine as the inner, gives good support.
A tip my LBS gave me is to wrap in different directions, so the inner is opposite the top but I do not know how much difference that makes (he did it it feels fine)

Yeah, like polish says, double rap with cork tape. If you put some extra handlebar gel strips as well, your bars will be massively thick.

Deda Zero 100 does not change it's width across the top.
It's height a little bit changes a bit, creating room for the cable(s).
Very good bar, I like it.
