i doubt any of Savio's teams are credible.

4 years seems too light a 'sentence'. I would prefer he was banned from being near any sports for life.

Hm your reponses so far has clearly showed that you doesn´t know much about Gaianni Savio. Yes his team have / had several riders who have been banned because doping violation. But you who know a little bit about him knows that he has some "rules" if they can ride for his team again. He thinks that every guy has to get a second chanse

1. They must put all the facts on the table about the doping
2. They must in public ask for forgivness (such as Sella did last year)
3. If they dope while they are in his team, they get kicked and have to pay a fine.

I have meet him and the whole Team and for a nicer person(s) you have to look for. He also give a lot of young good riders the chanse to get into the Pro cycling, as an example we can name Antonio Santoro, Yonatan Monsalve, José Rujano, Alessandro de Marchi, and so on... How many other Team Managers do that? Next year the Team Androni Giocattoli-C.I.P.I has atleast 3 Neo´s (of 16 riders) how many other Teams have that?

The list of riders you show here doesn´t say anything, all of them beside the one in 2005 was either banned before or after they been part of the team.

He's accused of supplying epo , looks like all this other stuff is a cover up to being a scummy drug dealer.

There are plenty of guys who dope and are nice guys. Isidro Nozal is a banned doper and yet by all accounts he is a very nice guy, and the same can be said for Patrik Sinkewitz.

There must be some truth to this as CONI wouldn't randomly decide to request a four year ban for Gianni Savio, or Luca de Angeli to accuse Savio of supplying EPO as I'm pretty sure Savio could take de Angeli to the cleaners in court if de Angeli was making stuff up. I'm sure perjury and lying under oath laws not only exist in Italy but are the same as in all Western countries.

Luca de Angeli says that Gianni Savio have supplied EPO to him. Why haven´t other riders said that, why should the Team Manager supply EPO to a domestiq? Why haven´t other riders claimed that they got it from him? There is many riders who have been member of ths team during it´s existence and this is a first time EVER that Gianni have been accused of this.
Why should a Team Manager risk the whole team risk the existence of a team for giving one rider EPO?

Whn you look on Luca de Angeli:s record you see that he has been member of several "infamous" teams such as Mercatone Uno and Fasso Bartolo, maybe a posibility that he protects some other guys? And maybe he wasn´t pleased about giving kicked out of the team when he got caught? Ever heard of revenge? It´s easy toclaim that a person have said that and done that, it´s only hearsay and in my book that doesn´t proof anything.

I am sure that I could start a roumor any day about a rider as an example Cavendish "I have heard from reliable source - that during off season he took anabola" In about two years that ridicoulous lines will have grown into fact among some people.. How will a rider defend himself from that?

Why is Luca de Angeli now in 2011 accuse Gianni Savio, why has he waited almost 6 years until he relieves the "bomb" maybe he has problems finding a job, his days in the newspapers has ended (see Floyd Landis) etc... For me it´s simple the guy is angry and want´s revenge, easy way to get it .. "He gave me epo" how? when? what? etc... uhm.. No sorry lads I am not buying this.

Fritz, it's been going on with Savio since the 90's!!! I wish I could divulge more but it would involve revealing info that may identify parties who refused to dope but may not wish to be dragged into this. I know of at least one rider who ended his career with this team because he didn't want to join "the program"

This is an accusation isn't it? It has yet to be proven in court and you're ready to throw him under the bus. Is this all that it takes, an accusation, for someone to be considered guilty here in The Clinic? Some times this place can be like a lynch mob.:(

Thank you Pippi_San I was just about to write the news I just got from Italy ... The ones who has made some accusations about Gianni should reconsider their thoughts, when the news that the Court has aquitted Gianni Savio from all accusations.

It also would be interesstin to see if the Cyclingnews will publish this news on the mainpage. And the CONI should be ashamed, and I hope that they will ask Gianni Savio for forgivness and withdraw their request of banning him from cycling.

I am very happy at the moment!
