Big line-up this year, Quintana will be defending his title, but lots of others are present as well: Fuglsang, Pinot, Vlasov, Sivakov, Costa, Gaudu, Thomas, D. Martin, Hart, Mollema, Ciccone, to name a few. Other interesting names are youngsters Brenner, Champoussin, Tejada, Pidcock, Vandenabeele, Ardila, Vacek, Vermaerke... Personally, i'm also curious to see Roger Adria, who made a strong impression last year in Burgos. Other big names are Dennis, Woods, Aru, Madouas, Izagirre, Van Avermaet, Naesen...

That first stage profile belongs in the worst profiles of all time topic. Look at the elevations for the finish.

Climbs
Stage 1

Col de Gourdon

...followed by this profile as far as Gourdon at about 7.8 kilometers:

Stage 2

Les Marjoris

Colle du Comte (until the second sign to Saint-Cezaire at 5.4k only)
AvayeSE.gif

Col de Mons (final 4.2k from Les Blaquières on this profile, with a bit of climbing before that)
3002.gif

The final climb (climbed three times, third time is the finish) is the one used when Paris-Nice finishes here (for the last time in 2017) minus the final 300 meters. The profile below in full then 50 or so flattish meters.

Stage 3

Berre-les-Alpes (first 4k only)

Col Saint-Roch (from 20.8k onwards)

Col de Castillon

Col de la Madone de Gorbio (from the junction to Colline at 11.2k onwards)

Don't have profiles for the uncategorised climbing near the end, we have two ramps of 1.1k at 7.4% and 2.5k at 4.7% as per LaFlammeRouge.

I am very confused by this post. What is the problem with the profile? It says they only ride to Gourdon which is half-way up the climb you post further down. And the altitude fits.

La Flamme Rouge profiles have the first sprint in a different position.

Btw, this LFR profiles aren't much better. Always exaggerates the altitude on this medium mountain profiles and on the contrary, it turns the high mountain stages into something very tame. The Giro's 3D profiles should be the standard for all races.

Looks like they got water in the brain. Instead of taking guys like Arensman and Van Wilder, they are taking Brenner and Vandenabeele.
Kemna said that Van Wilder isn't racing for now because his goals are further down the road. At the moment, riders who'll be doing the flemish classics and the italian racing program leading up to the Giro, have priority. Van Wilders first target, Sarthe, has already been cancelled.

Oh, i look forward to seeing Brenner and Vandenabeele in Ronde and Giro then!

It's also the first time i've heard of Sarthe as being "a season goal" for Van Wilder. Brabantse Pijl however, was one, and that starts only a few days after Sarthe was supposed to finish.
