A bit of fun -- another fantasy game

MADRAZO said:
Im pretty surpriced im close to the top 10 as my team is actually doing quite horrible:

RATTO Daniele 150 (very dissapointing so far, most of all his climbing seems very stagnated)
QUOTE]

Daniele Ratto have changed his focus somewhat MADRAZO!

He still characterizes himself as a climber/rouleur, but now says his ambition is other places than in the GT’s. As a U-23 and Junior, he always dreamt of being a similar type of rider as Ivan Basso. This winter he has put on an additional 5kilograms. His stature is now 1.80cm - 69kilograms. Together with his brother or step-brother (Different fathers!) Enrico Peruffo from Team Vorarlberg they have worked a lot on his ability as a finisheur to sharpen him even more for the hilly one-day classics. Now he aims for races such as Liege-Bastogne-Liege, San Sebastian and Lombardia etc. A class act that for sure still will have an amazing career. The GT stamp, however, even I must recognize is gone.

Oh nice! Was thinking they should do a GT one.

Really didn't do my best on the last team.

Like the set-up of this game though. Not too many riders, short time frames, nice interface etc..
So I think it would be cool if they do GT versions too.

I just don't think paying clients should get an actual advantage in the game itself. :)

They did one for the tour de france last year. It worked, but they had a lot of problems, mainly as a result of it being far more popular than they expected so they struggled to get things working. And database issues etc. Those seem to have been ironed out this spring.

For the tour, the paying clients got extra competitions, a pts competition etc, but again it was beset with problems, thats why this spring the people who had premium teams last summer got premium teams this year for free.

I think maybe there should be three tables, a combined one, a premium league, and a standard league, but with prize money on offer to the premium customers, and just glory to the standard league.

I can see his dilemma, to pay cash prizes you need people paying, and people paying expect something in return. Id actually rather see instead of £2.50 for premium teams, it just be flat £1 or $1 entry per team. Whats $1 nowadays.

I would have to pay by CC, so in the long run it could cost me thousands of Euro's :)

I agree with paying customers getting a premier league or something, with prizemonny. But I think for most of us here it's just about comepting with others from the forum.

I played the Tour game last year and they had a lot of problems with the website. I won't provide my personal information, let alone my credit card number to a site that buggy so that precludes me from buying a premium team.

This Classics game has been a lot of fun and they've definitely improved the site a lot.

me to, when i went premium for the tour it was more to chuck a few quid in the direction of the creator for doing it, just like i click on ads on some sites to help them out, rather than actualy wanting a premium team

tight as a ducks nut going into the last race.

THe leader had Gilbert (C) Rodriguez Sanchez and then Frank in 7th
I had, Gilbert (C) Rodriguez (VC) Andy (4th) Frank 7th
and 3rd place had GIlbert (C) Rodriguez (VC) Sanchez, Andy

By my reckoning 1st is still 1st just
im down to 3rd
3rd up to 2nd and about 40pts seperating all three teams.

The minor placings 10-20 are going to be key

Grrr I didn't pick Phil. Was tossing up between him and Anton for 5th.

But I guess I did well anyway, with Samu, Andy and Anton all in order (with Roddy to win). Let's forget I had Bertie in there.

I didn't do it, too, for some reasons.
Betted on Jurgen vdb for second behind Purito today.

But your prediction result looks very impressive anyway. :D

1st place right now is really putting it down hard with Rodriguez AND Gilbert.

I am hoping to finish on the podium now at least. Currently 3rd.

I got 4 out of 5.

Wanted to replace Sanchez by Gilbert for fifth, but didn't go through with it. Oh well, wouldn't have mattered point wise.

Stupid Contador :p
