Weird question. Who was the cyclist in the late 1800s or early 1900s that won an Italian (I think) semi-classic and also wrote books on a scientific subject (I believe it was either plants, insects or atleast something nature related)
Marie Curie was apparently a keen cyclist, but I suspect that she didn't win any Italian semi-classics.

A couple of Nobel prizes, but no semi-classics.
