Here's a nice one:

We know Astana (Contador Armstrong) were using AICAR in 2009. link
Who was responsible for Contador's nutrition in that year?
A certain Science in Sport (Lancashire-based), represented by a certain Peter Slater.
The company, which operates from Brockhall Village in the Ribble Valley, has been supplying Contador...for the last two years.

Science in Sport?s Peter Slater said: We?ve had a relationship with Alberto since 2008 and his record speaks for itself. He is a phenomenal athlete who is already a legend within cycling.

What about Team GB in 2009?
Article from January 2009:
Dietary principles for elite athletes have changed subtly over recent years, according to both Mitchell (who is seconded from the English Institute of Sport to advise Team GB's cyclists) and Peter Slater, one of the people behind the team's nutrition supplier, Science in Sport (SiS).

So, any more direct ties with Bradley? Oh yeah.
"It's been totally crazy," said his close friend Peter Slater who runs the foundation.

"The charity was totally Brad's idea. But the problem is he's been a victim of his own success. He came up with the idea at the end of last year, we launched the website in May, but he keeps winning things and we just haven't had the time to sit down together and thrash out the specifics of what we are aiming to do. We haven't even registered with the Charity Commission yet."

I don't know whether you suggest that Science in Sport supplies PEDs. it is a respectable company and if Contador was using, it would be from elsewhere. The same goes for Armstrong, who undoubtedly was, but why you should suggest this source is beyond me. I thought US Postal has something going.

The Bradley Wiggins Foundation is a charity and is registered - see link to accounts etc - http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Showcharity/RegisterOfCharities/CharityWithoutPartB.aspx?RegisteredCharityNumber=1149336&SubsidiaryNumber=0

I am sure you have heard of it before.

If this slur relates to the fact that Armstrong also had a charity it's bound to impress your friends, who love coincidences so much.

omg

Belkin were late to the party.
British sports nutrition company OTE (On The Edge) will be supplying WorldTour team Belkin with its products in 2014 ? quite a coup for the fast-growing British company.

The company was co-founded by Pete Slater, one of the men behind Science in Sport, who left that company to set up OTE. Slater and his team have been working on a range of energy bars, drink, gels and recovery products free from artificial sweeteners or colours.

The link you supplied that should prove we know Astana (Contador and Armstrong) used Aicar in 2009 actually doesn't contain the words Astana, Armstrong or Contador. So how does that link prove anything?

I must be missing something. Where in these sources is the link between SIS and AICAR?
the only link for now is that SIS were fuelling Contador in 2009 (and perhaps Lance as well), the year AICAR is found in AStana's dustbins, as well as Team GB/Wiggins, the year Wiggo spectacularly goes from 75 to 69 kg.
It's also the year Wiggins starts spreading Lance love.

I'm still to check if Slater had more direct links with Astana.
In any case, Slater has a portrait foto with Lance in 2009, and Contador signs a contract with SIS to 'test products' for them in 2010.
So Slater was doing something right.

Peter Slater went on to become Wiggins' 'closest friend' and runs his charity.
I assume Slater is still closely related to Team GB and Sky, but correct me if i;m wrong.

No time to look into it in more detail now, but the links seem interesting.

SIS is now OTE, btw, with ex-elite cyclist Shaun Pearson as 'operations and logistics master' and endurance athlete Matt Harrison added to the team.

It's so amazing that he went for "sniper" as his screenname, when what he does definitely puts him closer to "carpet bomber".

But your link doesn't establish that either, does it?

might be i gave the wrong link.
anyway, AFLD found AICAR in Astana's dustbins in 2009 TdF.
it's well known and i've provided the link a couple of times over the past few days.
p.s. i didn't claim any of those links to be proof of anything.

astana /AICAR is this a fact...........other web sources say this story completely lacks credibility

or any chance of backing up that team gb were using AICAR

that SIS are linked with AICAR?

lol, i guess.

not sure what you mean. what link? and which part of what you quoted?

edit: here's the link linking astana to aicar in tdf 2009:
AICAR first hit the headlines in cycling in 2009, when French authorities found packaging in the Astana team hotel during the Tour de France. Astana’s Alberto Contador went on the win the race, with Lance Armstrong taking third, although the American has since been stripped of that result.

2008:
sis joins revamped astana
"we are excited and looking forward to working with the new astana team as it will provide us with valuable feedback to further develop our leading range of energy, recovery and adaptation products" said science in sports' peter slater. "it will also present science in sport with the opportunity to work closely with riders such as [alberto] contador and [levi] leipheimer to further improve and develop our existing range of products.

Aight, thanks. I didn't know that. It's an interesting possibility, but not a strong link with SiS as it stands, I think.

The Astana squad has been rebuilt from the ground up over recent months, with a host of new rider and sponsorship announcements being revealed since the former Discovery Channel boss was appointed to direct the outfit. After several high-profile doping scandals forced the team's departure from last year's Tour de France, the team has much work to do to revamp its image and SiS is hopeful that Bruyneel can steer the supposedly new-and-improved Astana team into calmer waters in '08.

"Like Team CSC the new Astana team are committed to the anti-doping program developed by Dr Rasmus Damsgaard, which was an important factor which influenced our decision to support Astana," added Slater.

The announcement of the relationship with Astana takes the total of ProTour teams that Science in Sport works with to three. "We, the Astana team have chosen SiS as our energy provider because we believe it is the best product out there, and also because they continuously strive to make that product better still," said Astana director sportive Sean Yates. /GJ

Whatever pie Slater is/was baking, a considerable number of top riders want a piece of it.

Bruyneel continues with Slater in 2011:

Team Leopard Trek will be relying on Science In Sport energy products to fuel they're 2011 season, many of the riders will already be familiar with the products from racing with Saxo Bank last year so it's a great endorsement for SIS that riders like Fabian Cancellera and the Shleck brothers want to continue the relationship with them for the upcoming race season.

“I tell the riders every day that the way they rest their bodies and allow themselves to recuperate is every bit as important as riding their bikes hard,” Team Manager Kim Andersen explained. “With a product like SIS, we can be sure that the riders are drinking the right things during the training sessions and races, and that they will have the right energy boost in their post-race cool downs.”

I applaud the effort to look for connections, and I think you've certainly made a case that SIS are connected to both the Johan outfit, Riis group, and the British guys, but I'm not yet convinced of the connection between SIS and AICAR. Every team has a sports nutrition/recovery drink/energy gels/etc supplier.

That said, the reminder about AICAR being in the Astana waste from the TdF was good to bring up again.

As for Wiggins/Sky - the connections between Lance and the Sky setup, LA+Wiggo, LA+Cav have always seemed intriguing. But nobody really ever has looked too closely at a potential LA advisory role in the initial setup of Team Sky. There have been a few hints, but nothing substantial, so don't know how much of an influence LA had or not

Well Wiggins himself claimed to be in constant contact with lance throughout 2011-2012 and even praised him for being key in his tdf success.
