You have rugby in France, baseball in Spain as number two, but those are all country specific. In most EU countries cycling is somewhere between 2 and 4 and averaging that might will give you second place.

Well rugby is in Britain, Ireland, France and a bit in Italy. You take a sport like cricket and thats only Britain. Snooker is only really in Britain and Ireland while darts is popular in Holland, Britain and Ireland. I would like to ask the dutch people here. Is darts more popular then cycling there? I heard it was second to football.

You could say cycling would have more countries who have an interest in it then the sports mentioned above.

Darts? No, not at all. I have to admit that I'm not a darts expert at all, but as far as I know it's only since recently back on TV, on a small (but open to all) channel.

In the Netherlands, cycling is the second watched sports in 3/4 of the year, in the winter months its ice skating (horrible sport, but more people watch it).

I am only going on the BBC in the UK when they show the World Championships. They were saying ever since Barneveld won it the whole of Holland are now watching and playing darts.

I remember when they said that i thought to myself this could never be true.

There was a small hype when Barney won. But nowadays there's not a lot attention for darts any more.

With cycling, there's also a difference in people watching cycling coverage and it actually being broadcast. The Dutch NOS doesn't show us that much (only key* stages in Giro/Vuelta, for example), but we can easily switch to the Belgian channel.

(* when they say key stages they basically mean its weekend and they've got some hours to fill)

I find these days he just tends to ignore stuff. Like Landis. Like Armstrong. Like Ullrich. Just pretend it’s not happening.

I think we won’t hear from him. He doesn’t recognize the AIGP anyway.
