Who cares what they say? Same tards who were all about Contador slowing down so that Armstrong could make the podium. Where was their tactical genius then?

Old Man Lance DID make the podium.

Team Astana was hoping for a rare Podium Sweep.
But Alberto attacked mate Klodi, worked with the Schlecks to drop him, and then Alberto gifted the stage to Frank. Pretended to try at the end. Pathetic.

Anyway, Klodi and Horner are wise elders who will give the younger Schlecks useful insights and motivation. Sometimes the truth will hurt. Hopefully the Schlecks will not go "waa". I doubt they will.

Radioshack Attack 2012.
RadioShack-Nissan-Trek Attack.

And Astana did slow down the pace to keep Armstrong in contention. Vaughters said so. Some tards watched the race and saw what they wanted to see.

Oh, Vaughters said so.
LOL.

But I saw Alberto attack Klodi then gift Frank...and also saw Alberto ride like an extraterrestial on Verbier. Bang Bang.

Maybe if LA and kloden were good enough they wouldn't have been dropped. But you can keep having your illusions in wonderland. Say hi to alice.

Back on track - we've heard this before. There's always this astute commentary that the Wrecks need to attack and not act like brothers. Ummmmm ... no sh*t. However, they've failed to produce the big result. They are not tactical geniuses :D

Klodi and Hornball might be able to use some team tactics, if they can stay upright. This said, Klodi can't seem to climb the big cols worth sh*t anymore, and Hornball has yet to show it in a long, GT TT. Not saying I would give either of them lots of rope, but if Klodi takes off on an attack, he'd likely not get far. Same with Hornball.

One reason there were no early attacks this year is because no one felt capable ... they were near the limit and a big attack could backfire big time (leaving things out of the clinic right now).

The most accurate prediction thus far is that the brothers train-wreck need to arrive in better form. Which might mean that Andy needs to race more. Not really a news flash!

I'm hoping Andy goes to the Dauphine. The odd thing is if Andy does the Giro he shall arrive at the TDF with his worst ever form. But we all want to see him win a GT.
The reason why no one attacked this year in the Pyrennes ( excluding Samu and Vanendert ) was because Alberto was out of shape, Evans just had to wait till the ITT, the Shlecks thought with half-hearted attacks they could gain time/ brotherly/ Andy not strong in the Pyrennes, Voeckler clung on for dear life and Bassos' " stamina " would kick in during the 3rd week ( even though he was better in the 2nd week ). Next year with the advent of the super teams there shall be much more clearly defined battle lines and tactics drawn up ( Shlecks need to drop Evans/ attack him on every mountain stage, to win ). RSNT can send their riders on the attack ( and as you pointed out Horner/ Kloden cannot be discounted GC wise ), or inflict a harsher tempo.

so I guess the so called "mind games" have just started.........
Bruyneel & Co. never let us down with their bvllsh!t............even if Kloden is right on every bit of his opinion, the history of pathological lying & deceiving is such that even a truthful comment is still questionable when coming from that crew...

LOL

What about Kloden basically towing Lance everywhere when it was obvious he could have made the podium himself had he dumped Hopestrong, easily.

I'm confused as to what this has to do with the upcoming Tour. Kloeden touring "Lance" seems like an entirely different topic. Maybe you want to open a thead "Kloeden for hire" that will address the larger issues here.

Well, how come Horner and Kloden had nothing to say when their whole team was riding like idiots and Contador only pulled it off because he was much better than the rest and needed no help aside from the TTT.

Attacking your own teamate on a winding stage to break the peleton and not picking him up at his hotel for a TT are clangers that Horner and Kloden were completely quiet about. This all on top of jepordizing 1st place to try to load up the podium.

Yeah, full agreement here. :D

Kloden for hire thread idea cracks me up :D

Wowie, times are changing. The Freiburg Phantom isn't so much of a ghost these days; but rather bullishly throwing his opinions out there (for the good of the world :D).

P.S. As Kloden was mentioned in this thread topic I just had to make a post :p

They were working. For questionable people and purposes. As are a good chunk of people around the world. There are places to debate the ethics of such situations. This team politics of Astana 2009 have been beaten to death and have nothing to do with the coming year's race.

I know lots of people thought it was dull, but the 2009 tour was when I started watching cycling for the first time since the mid-nineties - Cav sweeping the sprints, Wiggins plugging away for 4th and Contador thrashing the field and Lance was all great. Does anyone know anywhere where the Astana story is told in any level of detail - be it a forum, article, book etc? If it hasn't already been written I reckon there's a great book in the 2009 tour if you could get the inside story.

The way all these early season interviews are going, its like a flash back to T-Mobile Tour team tactics but with more umbilical cord! :D
