Is it time for the first hype train of the season already? Hot damn!

So, you know how this works. We need to pick a legendary former pro to compare Guardini to so that expectations for his career palmares are set so high he can never meet them.

Any suggestions? Since he's an Italian sprinter I feel Cipollini is the obvious choice. How does Andrea feel on the subject of tiger-print skinsuits?

Who? These wannabes will flatter to deceive - Andrea is already delivering on the biggest stage there is.

Ok, joking aside that's now 4 out of 5 in sprints, where the failure was a podium and the last win was a pretty sharp uphill sprint -

Winning with that level of consistency suggests the actual ability differential between him and the competition is pretty enormous if he can keep absorbing the random effects of luck and still win. Obviously form will come in to that, but still, the kid is obviously extremely talented.

Can we all agree the cq ranking game is now between the 3 or 4 of us with the foresight and knowledge to pick him?

I'm genuinely getting on the hype train. I'ts just one minor early season race, but he's clearly a cut above the competition.

Forget Qatar where he might get some resistance.. The Tour of Egypt here we come!

He's obviously quite good though, I remember hearing about him last year and about the guy being the "new" Cavendish or something.

I'm not jumping on the train just yet. He's obviously talented and may be a top sprinter in the future, but it's not as if he's sprinting against any top guys and top sprint trains there. And Langkawi's sprints have been dominated by several guys in the past who didn't wind up becoming stars (Loddo, G Brown, Gavazzi...)

I guess I just want to see him up against the big boys first
