Gilbert will win the Tour when the Schlecks and Contador crash out.

How is that for a bold prediction

I'm afraid we'll lose more GC favorites when the first real mountain hits.

Tony Martin? No way will he top 10 unfortunately cause I really like the guy

If he can beat Evans by 1.30 in the exact TT from the dauphine, then he can be beating other top 10 by 3/4mins which is enough to see him into the top 10. He is also in the form of his life and will be able to hang in there on the climbs.

But at the end of the day, if Contador finds his legs (which atm seems like he has no firepower) then I suspect only 3 men can go with him, Sammy Sanchez, Schleck and Basso (if he finds his giro form from last year.)

I think velits will top 10.
...or better.

Actually that's maybe going too far. Here's my revised top ten.

[edit]
Schleck A.
Evans
Kloeden
Basso
Velits
Sanchez S.
Schleck F.
Sanchez LL.
Cunego
Voeckler

(Contador's knee is goosed. I think that may be that.)

Agreed, been up there on every uphill finish and is looking in great shape. His time trialing is superb as well. I think he could be the surprise of the Tour and even get a Top 5 finish especially as Wiggo, Vino and VDB have abandoned.

I will be surprised if luis leon finishes top 10.

Actually I'm not sure this is right myself now, because I think Voeckler can stay in the top ten too.

Am I missing something about Martin???

What is the hype about this rider in this forum?

At the start of the tour, I wouldn't of given him much chance of making the Top 20, would have definitely preferred Velits. But after Brajkovic, Kern, Kiryienka, Wiggins, Horner, Van Den Broeck, Vinokourov all crashing out I think he has a massive chance now.

He is in the form of his life and can hang with these guys in the mountains but the biggest thing is the TT, he can put good time into other top 10 contenders which was shown by the 1.30 he beat Evans by on the exact same course in the dauphine.

I also feel this is his last chance to prove that he is a GC contender otherwise he will just be part of the Cavendish train for the rest of his career. He doesn't have the support of his team which will make it difficult.

There's no hype, except from Bavarianrider. The rest of us are just reluctantly starting to believe he might do well, judging by his performances so far.

This.
And in the begining we were just humouring Bavarianrider.:D
