Why did Dylan not go Veulta? He would have almost surely won one of those uphill finishes without Jrod and Valverde there

I think he's trying to take it easy, as he's still quite young. He didn't quite shine in the Giro so perhaps he didn't really believe he had it in him

Isn't it still possible for him to do so, or has BMC already revealed their roster?

I got ahead of myself and thought they overlapped

Kristoff easy victory..

P.S Matti Breschel apparently punched August Jensen in the face after finish line.. DQ incoming..
I've done the exact same thing. So embarrassing...

Edit: meaning the premature celebration, not the punch. :p

While the competition was poor, it once again shows that Kristoff sprints a lot better when delivered by Morkov. He seems to lack the confidence otherwise.

Haven't been able to find anything, other than the initial reaction from Jensen.
BTW, from what I understood it was a slap to the back of the head, rather than a punch to the face.

So how's the situation with Breschel?

Don´t think it´s going to end in DQ. August Jensen seemed more surprised than angry and Breschel didn't want to comment on the situation. Most likely they´ll sort out their differences and thats it.

Im on km40 and they are riding into stormy conditions. Weather will be issue. Might be chance for echelons if the direction is good later on. Will be a hard day.

Great scenery from the Lyngen Alps. Cold, rain and wind. A true arctic experience for the riders.

With the way the weather has been in Bergen this year, the rain here is perfect preparation for the worlds.

Ps. The general area the race is in this year, is where the planned defensive line where Norway would make a stand in case of a Soviet invasion during the cold war. There were a lot of fortifications and stuff here, but a lot of that has been removed.

I guess they're regretting that now?

Who knows. I think they stopped some decomissioning recently, but It should have been stopped back in 2008-2009 when Russia invaded Georgia. My confidence in the military in long term planning is low. They seem to not be able to think more than 2 years ahead.

Another interesting case. Olavsvern was a secret submarine base built into a mountain. They sold it a couple of years ago to someone who rents the dock to Russian trawlers needing repairs or something. Todays route actually passed the base earlier today. Have'nt seen any images from it, but I think it's just a hole in a mountain so that's not really surprising.
