Armstrong defiant on doping claims

"Having helped revive the troubled sport of cycling in the wake of the 1998 Festina doping scandal" -> Hello comedy hour. Just remember velonews is a fanboy website! ding ding

If I may edit that to the truth "Having continued the tradition of 'boosting' in the wake of the 1998 Festina doping scandal"

"It has no effect on my life ─ zero" -> total BS. Living in denial. Having nightmares of Novitzky revelations.

"never tested positive for banned substances" more BS. count of 7 from 1999

source http://velonews.competitor.com/2011/01/news/armstrong-defiant-on-doping-claims_155525

Do any Armstrong associates have shares in Competitor.com?

cheers to all

Slow news day is it? Honestly, what do people expect him to say? 'Got me bang to rights guvnor, guilty as rumoured'??

Move along please.

The day will come but it'll be Novitsky that makes the announcement.

So, your sources are telling you Lance is freaking out and he has no friends. You say that alot lol.

My sources tell me Lance is sleeping like a baby and he has more friends than any other pro athlete competing today. He has so many BFFs he is trying to figure out a way to sell off some of them lol. That Lance.

Maybe you are just refering to Lance's business side?
It IS professional to treat your employees fairly.
Don't show nepotism, don't treat some as friends and others not.
That part I can understand. Buffet and Gates are the same.

Here's my favorite Lance quote of the day. For a couple of you, this is a message from your fearless leader

"If you wasted your time trolling around on the forums or chat rooms, then of course, you are going to get a lot of that.

This morning I clicked a link in a pro-Lance Carlton Reid article, and found out I was blocked on twitter again :D I think it had to do with my screaming about him wearing Mellow Johnny and Livestrong (it's as much advertising for .com as .org) kit while he had signed a contract and had a team pay out money. It may have been minimum salary, but Livestrong was on all of their clothing, the website, his bikes (where were the Kazakh sponsors?), so he received plenty of free marketing for the dot com there too. People are saying how much marketing value he gave to the USPS.

If you read his statements during the Giro when Astana was late on salary, he let slip that Ryszard “Richie” Kielpinski, who had rejoined him at the start of the comeback, and was mentioned and photographed on the training trips to Hawaii and France, was paid by Astana too.

"I've spent every day of the year with my soigneur [massage assistant] Richard, a Polish guy. He's got a wife and two young kids at home and doesn't get a pay check," Armstrong said. "I can pay his check, which will probably happen, but there's 30 other staff in the same position and is that frustrating? Yeah. Very. This is not fair."

"Lance is sleeping like a baby"

they do say that the guilty ones are the ones that sleep soundest

"The next morning, whoever's sleeping is your man. You see, if you're guilty, you know you're caught, you get some rest, you let your guard down."
-the usual suspects :D

Lance is not sleeping like a baby, its too early yet in Adelaide and not bed time.

He has collected his $2M, publicised our fine event here in Adelaide,

Had a nice ride around Rymill Park this evenening and is now sitiing back laughing at the haters on Cyclingnews and the new threads about nothing.

Edit: He has even posted on Twitter. "Good start to the year" with Robbie getting third. clearly he is stressed, not.

:) :) :) :)

+1

I wonder if LA manages to pull a "Keyzer Söse" on Novitzky.

Yeah its a well known fact that how celebrities, politicians etc behave in public, and what they say in twitter and in the media is DEFINITELY what is really going on.

Just like how Silvio Berlusconi has obviously never done anything inappropriate with exotic young ladies, because he says he hasn't... and - because he also says he isn't worried about police investigation - he's clearly telling the truth.

They should just drop the investigation to save time.

LA is back to thinking small. He's definitely gaining humility.

Funny how Armstrong says his comeback didn't go as planned because he didn't win an 8th Tour. I thought his comeback was about cancer awareness?

Would people be less aware because he didn't topple Contador? Is this why he says it was a failure?

Old joke, but yes Lance is sleeping like a baby. Waking every few hours crying having soiled his bed.

Is it just me, or is he aging by the day?

He looks like a man who doesn't know what to do.

He wants to be "Lance" but when he does he knows we're all going to find out so he doubles back.

He looks very tired and stressed.
