Armstrong merchandise going on clearance

This is another front where Wonderboy could be in litigation trouble.

All that junk out there where some low-profile brand bought the liveswrong branding package should start seeing real declines in sales. Some of that stuff that ends up getting pushed through big-box retail is a high volume, razor-thin profit margin business.

I know there's still lots of noisy believers out there, but the next part is going to be pretty slow-motion. I think the .com brand just won't be effective any more. It's tainted by too much controversy as it is.

fanboy / apologists / e merckx / a merckx / fat pat etc should have to watch the entire 36 disc 4320 min long box set of all 7 lance 'wins' in a single session before commenting further

Strapped to a chair, with their eyes taped open...

I wonder how I can get one of those yellow jerseys that he has to give up...???

Easy-peasy - you can pick it up from Ebay soon at a bargain. Nobody else will want to be caught dead with it... Maybe you can even two or three at a discount. Heck, take the whole lot and pay for 5...

Or maybe sneak your name onto the Tour list any of the years. Nobody remembers the names of the losers and cynics and haters who didn't dope anyway, so the mere fact there's a name on there nobody knows must mean the person was clean...

WCP? The bastion of all things Lance, including Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwen, and "Sycophantic Photographer to the Stars" Graham Watson?

What's next? No more sunflower fields?

The only thing missing now is a taped converstation between Phil & Paul:
Paul: "Who are we going to shill now?"
Phil: "What are you on about?"
Paul: "50% of my income came from those f*cking videos! Although the numbers have been off lately, what with the video piracy..."
Phil: "Piracy...are you talking about that little Italian chap?"
Paul: "Focus, Phil. This is serious, what are you going to do now?"
Phil: "I'm going to retire. Been selling extra copies out of my trunk for 10 years now. You didn't think there was another hero in our suitcase of courage, did you?"

I remember vividly this older gentleman attempting to teach me the refined art of climbing. This was directly after the 1999 Tour, and everyone was high on Armstrong. It seemed as if a conversation about cycling was impossible without bringing his name up.

During his soliloquy, he said, "For example, just look at how Lance Armstrong climbs..." Right there and then I tuned him out, thinking, "the guy's a doper. Of course his form looks great when he's climbing. He can keep it together longer than other riders because he's on drugs".

Having said that, I will more than likely make this purchase of "The Cyclism 1999-2005". I will be able to enjoy the racing much more now that I know his titles will be stripped.

+1. If someone else tells me, after 25 years of racing: "the key to climbing is higher cadence in a gear slightly bigger than your competition" I'll simply end their life.

Man, they are totally missing value added revenue by not selling each of those with a box of tissues and a jar of VaselineTM!

The opportunity they are missing is recutting the video, adding additional commentary, and selling the same race with a different winner. That equals new product.

It would not take much alteration either. They could dub in Paul saying, "Look at that massive gear being turned by Cipollini. You know who else was the master of the huge gear? A certain four time Tour de France winner by the name of Jan Ullrich."

LOL. They should photoshop Wiggins' mug in the Lance videos and see how long it takes the Sky fanboys to notice anything amiss.
