Contador's situation and the ruling that was handed down did not come to the surprise of many. We all know it takes time to get these cheater banned. However, with a positive test, it's time to take a stand and show these riders that we want a clean sport, so the penalties must be harsh and drastic, otherwise riders will believe they can always come back after a year or two when the ban is lifted.
What is worse are these sponsors supporting these riders despite their positive tests or evidence of cheating. Look at Saxo-Bank GM, still vocally supporting a known cheat, Alberto Contador.
Fans can take initiative and make a petition to have Contador banned permanently. Simply contact the UCI and voice your opinion that Contador's ruling was too light, and you want to see any cyclist with sufficient evidence of cheating permanently banned from competing.

Time to get this sport on the right track. No comebacks for cheats...they should be permanently banned. That is the only way to stop the cheating.
- SA out.
