Article - The true heir to Lance emerges: Schleck true 2010 TDF Winner

------------------------------
Thread revival

Edited portion for recent news of Andy Schleck being true 2010 winner in light of Contador Cheating and stripped of 2010 TDF title.

I am really glad this happened because I knew all along that Contador was a bad character. Ever since he attacked Andy because of a chain problem, you could really see the guy had no honor. And look at Alberto Now! It all makes sense. You attack on a technical problem, you probably do illegal stuff to win too. Lance never attacked on a technical problem against a major adversary. The guy waited for Ulrich!

All hail 2010 winner Schleck! All hail future TDF winner Menchov!

Below is what I wrote years ago. It's great to see that everything is starting to be put in their proper place. Notice how I said that cycling should have done the right thing...well they finally did. Good For the sport!
-------------------------------
Lance was never founded to test positive for a banned substance during his career, and his famous 7 year reign as TDF champion.

However his heir apparent, Alberto Contador, tested positive for clenbuterol on a rest-day control a day ahead of the decisive Tourmalet climbing stage en route to his narrow, hard-fought third Tour victory just ahead of Andy Schleck.

It is quite sad to see the Tour headed in this direction. Contador is an obvious cheat and should be banned. Pro Cycling does not want an obvious cheating champion if they want fans to believe they are firm in their conviction to clean the sport. To allow Contador to remain champion and continue to race is equivalent to spitting on the Maillot Jaune.

The excuse for Contador of clenbuterol being present is he ate beef, but clenbuterol hasn't been used for processing beef in years.

Now we come to what this article is really about.

The bright news is that if the TDF does the right thing, and bans Contador and strips him of his title, the true Champion, Schleck will emerge, and he will be poised to dominate the tour. Schleck is a charismatic kid that everyone in the tour respects. He has not acted like a spoiled child like Contador, and more importantly he never has been tested positive for a banned substance.

Fans of the sport who desire a clean race welcome Schleck as the true 2010 TDF champion, and the true heir to Lance.

What is ASO's stance on Contador? A lot has been said about the UCI and WADA reaction. If ASO came with a statement, it has drowned in all the noise (at least I'm not aware of it). What are they saying?

And Schleck might be declared the 2010 winner, but personally I'm not too confident about his cleanliness. Just remember the payment Frank made to a certain Spanish Ob/Gyn. YMMV

A 1999 urine sample showed traces of corticosteroid in an amount that was not in the positive range. A medical certificate showed he used an approved cream for saddle sores which contained the substance.

Yes. You left some details out it seems.

So Andy automatically gets heat for his brother's actions?

Might be a case of premature Andjaculation (over exuberant and impatient fans with a raging case of schleckyphillis).

Go ahead and add Contador as a witness to the Lance Armstrong case..that is before or after Contador writes his book titled: "I'm Innocciente I Tink."

One of the cool things out of this however is that I won't have to hear Contador's
Spanglish.

don't worry- he has translators that can spell clearly to the jury what happened with the syringes issue from last year's TDF;)

Dumbass,

The organizers of the Tour de France don't get to pick who wins their race. That is something that can only be done by officials at the UCI after an arbitration hearing, which will likely take 2 years to adjudicate.

Please read the rulebook.

What the EPO found in Lance's urine from the '99 Tour? It seems you left out some details.

Here's a little refresher course:

Careful with that axe Eugene.

I can see it. Maybe.

Taking it for granted that both Lance and Andy doped, they could be similar in 1 or 2 ways.

1- only focus on the Tour.
2 - Be a dirty superstar to benefit coming out of other scandals, Lance from Festina 98, seen as the new hope in 99, Schleck from Contador - new hope of 2011.
3 Before the Tour they both posted a good result in another gt - Lance 4th Vuelta, Schleck 2nd Giro, and both won an Ardennes classic LBL andy, FW Lance.
