(Atheletics) Bernice Wilson 4 year ban

Uk Anti-doping succesfully got a 4 year ban in this case.

Reasons for 4 over 2 seem to the "aggrevating matters", which seems to boil down to three points
a) Multiple drugs (Clen and testosterone)
b) repeat use of testosterone (by denying any injection, the only reasonable way of getting the levels is repeated oral dosing)
c) Deceptive and obstructing conduct, especially in regards to making allgeations about possible sample tampering by the DCO.

Includes links to both the original decision and the appeal documents.

Arguing c) is especially interesting as deny, blame and obfuscate seems to be a normnal practice in dopers who get caught. One wonders if this could be used as an argument in the AC case currently being written by CAS.

That would be a nice thought, but it ain't gonna happen. The British seem to have a stronger attitude to doping punishments than elsewhere (ref the BOA lifetime Olympics ban, being appealed soon).

I was reading the tennis thread and associated links last night. If anyone thought cycling was bad for trying to sweep things under the carpet, the ATP takes things way beyond that.
