If you feel good you have to attack. Maybe riders should attack more.

Great ride by a kid with a good attitude, it seems. The stars dithered and fortune favoured the brave.

Only started racing two years ago! Super talent.

Racing like the old days: feel good and go; just like the badger. No procrastinating, no anxious clinging to some poor sucker's wheel like it's mama's teet, no calculated slyness and predetermination. Just positive, optismistic racing.

He and Hoogerland made my day. Gotta love those Benelux boys.

Great ride by him today. I will jump on the bandwagon, that was a ballsy ride. I was yelling at the top of my lungs for him to make it to the line. Man, that was close, and the great thing is that he made it.

I pretty much screamed him to win it eventhough I prefer a gc contenders fight usually. 8 kilometer solo, well done :D.

Matt Keenan was saying on the highlights that he started riding his bike just for travel purposes back and forth from university.

No, he did athletics and had an injury that forced him to quit the sport, so he started cycling instead.

Well what matt is saying is probably true as well. Matt K knows his stuff.

Its nice to see someone who has not traded his education for a chance of sporting success to achieve something like that. :)

Wait for a few years and I'll be a TT champion in my country:D

my understanding is you're both right.

he did athletics as a teen but had to quit from injuries... rode a bike around Gent at university to get around and started riding seriously after he left... i think, initially, it was just for the hell of it...

watching the replay as we speak -- amazing :D

Jose de Cauwer just told that his nickname among teammates used to be 'Bartacus'.

Awesome :)

of course that also true. I don't think more than 10% doesn't use a bike to travel back and forth from university in Gent :p
But chance is big he used it before that to travel to school too...

But nowhere near other achievements obviously.

That makes him equal to Brice Feillu... Don't know if that makes anyone happy :p
Anyway, he also surpassed JvdB's honour roll. ;) Even worse.

Yeah, but Bartje is neo pro :p

Taking a win in the Giro without a breakaway(yeah the favorites would have still won if they didn't look at each other, but happens all the time) on a MTF is pretty darn impressive.

Anyway, I'm not going tp hype him like GvA in 2008, but definitely promising.
