Bart Wellens to start cross season in the US

OK This is old news now but hasn't been discussed.

He'll race Cross Vegas on Sep 14th, Redmond (Washington State) on the 18th and 19th and Sun Prairie, Wisconsin on 24th and 25th.

Along with Rob Peeters.

He's the third top Euro crosser to start a season in the US after Erwin Vervecken in 2009 and Francis Mourey in 2010.

Hope he'll be as successful as them. Vervecken won the 2nd leg of Sun Prairie in 2009 and in 2010, Mourey won Cross Vegas and the two legs in Redmond.

Bart Aernouts is also along. :)

+ Ben 'Epo is my fuel' Berden, Tim Van Nuffel (he's raced it for a years now) and Christian Heule who signed for Cannondale to replace JPow (so I'm wondering if he'll race in Europe).

And Joyce Vanderbeken for the ladies. :)

First cross event of the season has been raced last Saturday in Nittany Lion, Pennsylvania. J-Pow won.

Also as is pointed out on CX Mag, there are more and more Euros on American soil. Example for this: Tom Van den Bosch wins his second cross of the season, in Charm City. ;)

1 VAN DEN BOSCH Tom Aa Drink/Leontien.Nl
2 FIELD Ian Hargroves Cycles
3 MCNICHOLAS Dylan Cyclecrossworld.com
4 GARRIGAN Mike Lapierre Canada
5 VAN NUFFEL Tim Dcm-Gb Vorselaar

7 LIVERMON Travis Smart Stop-Mock Orange P/B Ridley
8 DURRIN Jeremy Jam Fund / NCC

Van den Bosch actually won the second cross in Charm City. Ian Field won the first one and Tom was second.

Nicolas Bazin beats the best US crossers at the Catamount GP in Williston, Vermont.

Is there a livestream available for Sun Prairie?

Lol Wellens edged out by Trebon in Sun Prairie. J-Pow is 3rd, Peeters 4th, Driscoll 5th, Johnson 6th, Berden 7th and Heule 8th. At least Bart won the 2 crosses around Seattle but even the best Americans weren't there.

Last event of his American adventure, tonight: http://www.usgpcyclocross.com

Lol also Lucien flew over the ocean :p :

Apparently J-Pow couldn't capitalize on his bunny-hopping, this year:

Wellens and Peeters should be back home by now. I guess the other Euros will do the same, with the possible exception of Heule since he's racing for Cannondale, now.

In Rochester, Nico Bazin wins again, defeating Ian Field and Tom Van den Bosch.

In Burlington, last Saturday, same podium but different order:
1 Ian Field
2 Tom Van den Bosch
3 Nicolas Bazin.

Podium:

Nico is the only one to have washed up, it seems, lol.

Bazin's win in Williston, Vermont, which I've told you of above in this thread:
