Not sure if this has been posted on here yet, it doesn't say anything you guys don't already know but Mcqauid has a few words on it.

I think its more interesting in the sense of how it portrays cycling to the general public, Today programme is a hugely popular broadcast and lets face it, no one in the Uk gives a damn about cycling.

Sure its been said 100 times but it is so frustrating that this is the only context in which cycling gets mentioned. Cav's win in the Giro, for example, has barely been mentioned by the entire BBC!

I don't find it frustrating at all. That's the reality of professional cycling.

A reality which Mark Cavendish would rather remained under the carpet, as far as I can see.

The Today Programme isn't exactly popular, but it is probably the single most respected and influential programme on any media in the UK. They also ran a reasonably long report on the Hamilton/Armstrong breaking story this morning.

The other BBC speech radio station 5 Live just ran a fairly sensible interview piece with Lionel Birnie of Cycle Sport about Hamilton/Armstrong. Interesting that Birnie pointed out that Armstrong did test positive in 1999, and that he was very dismissive of in-competition dope tests.
