Inspired by the best all rounder poll, who do you think is the best all rounder of the last 20 years. the reason I'm limiting it to 20 is due to the fact that cycling used to be very different, and it has become more specified in the last 20 years, making it harder to be an all rounder. Otherwise Hinault and Merckx would be way ahead of everyone else.

Sean Kelly is the last BIG all-rounder i guess, but it belongs more to 1980th which means more than 20 years ago, anyway i voted for him

Ya I was thinking about Bartoli for the same reason, I left him off cause he really showed nothing in stage races. Does anyone know how I can change the poll and put him in instead of kelly?

Why in gods name would you put Bartali instead of Kelly.. instead of Ullrich maybe, or Samu... but Kelly?

Thats like missing Eddie M off a grand tour winners list and putting him in in place of Armstrong or Contador..

Gianni Bugno should be there, surely?

Giro, 2 x World champs, 2 x Tour de France podiums, Milan San Remo, Tour of Flanders, World cup winner, Classica San Sebastian, 2 x Italian Champs.

Vino.
I would have voted for King Kelly, but his stage racing results went downhill in the 90s.

If we add the caveat "only within the boundaries of Portugal" then Cândido Barbosa by an absolute mile. Always contending sprints, contending the uphill cobbled finishes, podiuming mountain stages and long stage races, winning short time trials and podiuming long ones, winning one day races...

I guess scullster46 is the hitch's alter ego LOL!!!

Let's see how many threads of all-rounders we have thus far?

I would not include Samu in this poll.

Hes still more of an all rounder than the ridiculous options you offered. Peraud, Froome, Levi, Nibali, LLS better all rounders than Samu. lol, when was the last time you watched cycling?

Ya in hindsight I would've taken out Samu and possibly Kelly since he was more of an 80's guy and put in Di luca and Bartoli instead. Oh well, you win some, you lose some

These threads should just ask "who is the best out of these 10 riders?" to prevent 75% of the discussion being about who should make the list or not.

Considering this list somehow includes Samu (who I like, but in this company...) and Valverde (who I don't like), it would seem a significant oversight to not include Cadel Evans. Tour. WC. Classic. UCI ProTour. 2 x MTB World Cup. Don't know if I think he's the best all rounder in 20yrs, but he's a better all rounder than these two.
