Reminded me of the Sella monster escapes, although these mountains were not Fedaia-like it was an extremely well deserved win, 150 km on his own.

No way a gift
Watch the overhead and JRod's face
EDIT: And don't forget he is still a contender for the points jersey if Cav doesnt' finish or has points deducted for missing a time limit in the bus

A crash leaves 10 riders together at the front.

3 of them get away from the others, ride together for 10k and one of them wins in a sprint.

Not quite a 150k break.

From that year, Pineau and Tschopp were way better.

Last years Kiriyenka and Nieve put all 3 of those to shame.

I respectively disagree. Rodriguez could have won if he really wanted, but he showed respect for Rabottini. (As he deserved to win the day)

Reminds me of the third stage in the Tour 2010.

I'm glad Farnese got a win here. All wildcards have now proved themselves in this Giro. Good, no more whining about how Aqua&Sapone wasn't invited. Netapp did great so far even if the favorites have decided to ride very conservatively so far.

Excluding A and S was a disgrace.

To argue that they deserve not to be in there because other wildcards have "proven themselves", in your eyes, is typical flawed El P logic.

Yeah. My impression was that Rodriguez showed even more class than merely gifting the stage, he gifted it without making a show of it. Impressed me greatly.

Honestly I doubt Purito thought Rabottini was still on his wheel.

To me it looked like Purito got surprised.

It doesn't matter. It's an epic win, but there have been more in the past for example Nieve last year during a stage where the GC contenders started to attack eachother before the penultimate climb!!
One of the best stages I've ever seen.

Agreed, which only goes to show his class even more fully.

I rather see some fresh faces in this Giro than someone like Garzelli who has done this race dozens of times already. And even better: no Di Luca in the Giro.

scinto already send it in the bank account.he needed this stage win otherwise the whole season would have been in danger,no more sponsors.

that doesn't decrease anything from rabottini's performance,he was stellar today.
but purito would have beat anyone in a sprint if he wished that

Rodriguez is clearly suprised Rabotini is still there when he comes past, but he then doesn't try to pass him back. Classy indeed.

He went all out for time and the jersey and the stage, until Rabotini passed him then he had no time to gain and only dreams to crush, so he didn't try. Perfect end to the stage for me
