Oh man, sorry to see that happening. There's a company in QLD that fixes broken carbon frames. Your FD pins should be an easy fix.

I saw an ad for these guys in a RIDE magazine prob a year ago. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Hope you have another bike in the meantime. There's nothing worse than being off the road.

It's been a few years, but I had a disc wheel fixed
at Bike Addiction in Manly, NSW. It was probably
four or five years ago, but at the time the owner
(a French guy, can't remember his name) was
doing a lot of carbon fibre repairs and had a good
reputation. I just went to their web-site and they
sell Cervelos as well. If you are in the Sydney area
it would be worth checking him out.

My thought would be to remove paint locally, bond additional layers of carbon cloth around and beyond (at least three inches) the damaged area, repaint, and hope the FD still fits.

I'm planning on this method to repair a steel track frame with a damaged top tube.

I'm kinda calling bull**** on it. The video just showed it falling off with essentially zero force. Obviously previously wrenched off by some much more major stuff-up. What was the cause of the original failure? I've been riding carbon frames since the first Trekk OCLV 5000-series in the late 80s. I've never had a piece of carbon fail. Steel, yes twice through fatigue (531 frame and Tange Prestige steerer - two different bikes)...carbon, never.

Thanks winkybiker for making me feel less 'alone'.
I'm not buying the commentary either.
I was originally hoping to see them wrapping the damaged area with a combo of banana peels and resin.
Plus who makes a "How to tune high end carbon Cervelo team bike" video?
That said I'm still waiting for someone to post a video on 'How to tune a low end aluminum Ridley bike" before I can ride mine.

Dude;

Broken frame, Banana strike and looming fungal virus threatening banana supply.

WTF are you going to do next year? I'm sure you will find a way to make the bike go fast regardless..
