Hello,

Due to recent events I am looking to retire my Nike Discovery Channel kit. It is getting worn anyway, but ... well .... you know ....

Anyhoo, my bib shorts are Made In Italy and are a size XL. I am 6'1" tall. They fit fine.

I was looking at another team kit but it is made by Santini. Specifically, the La Vie Claire kit sold by Prendas. I think the Santini bibs are made in Italy too. Would ordering the same size (XL) make sense for me? Has anyone ever owned bibshorts made by both companies? Are the sizes compatible?

Probably made by MOA, both of them. Should fit the same.

These too.

Thanks, the paneling looks familiar. I know a lot of people think riding in team kits is silly, but I love the way certain ones look and I would rather ride in that then some plain looking stuff. I guess its just my personality.

Besides, Rasmussen rode in plain stuff when he was being sketchy and I don't want to appear to be supporting cheaters (haha).

I wish I could get a 7-Eleven kit but Descente doesn't seem to make them in my size. You know, it is okay for someone taller than 6 feet and over 200 lbs to like cycling enough to want to ride a bicycle while wearing lycra. Maybe I'll never be the right size to compete in even a Cat 5 race but I can still have fun while I am out there riding.

I received an e-mail from someone at Prendas.

They say that the Made in Italy Nike gear is made by Giordana. Santini stuff would need to be one size bigger to work, i.e. XL Nike Italy bibs would correspond to XXL Santini bibs.

I'm 6'1", 34" waist, about 13 stone (max winter weight), been having a love affair with Etxe Ondo bibs for about 10 years. They run pretty small, I wear a size large but I take a medium in Izumis, Assos and Nemas.

To recap...

I have XL Nike Made in Italy bibs. They fit.
I ordered XXL Santini Made in Italy bibs, and received them recently. They fit great.

European sizing is weird to me but that is because I am not used to it. However, with a little preparation and investigation it isn't too difficult to get what you need.

Thanks to all the contributors for their contributions.
