So, who do you think it is? Filippo Pozzato, Lars Boom, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Geraint Thomas, Thor Hushovd, or do you have another option?

Boom was dissapointing but still finished top 15 in both RVV and PR.

Pozzato, Hushovd and the Sky men (Thomas/Hagen) where the biggest failures. Especially Pozzato suprised me by sucking so much. Hushovd/Hagen was more expected (hushovd being over the top and Hagen never convincing on cobbles)

I was thinking about this option in the poll, but OTOH Boonen had many problems all year long, while in Paris-Roubaix the team had bad luck.

Pippo, I expected a lot more, especially after he "seemed" to show good form with his early win in Laigueglia. But he was just never there when it counted.

I would say Hushovd if this was a couple years ago, but honestly I think he is pretty much past it. So I never was really expecting that much from him.

Pretty much this. Had expected much more from him.

Can't say I'm too disappointed with pippo. I wasn't expecting anything in the first place.

Exactly, no expectations from Pippo and Thor. Thomas is too young and while Boom is OK classic rider, he is not a favorite for any of them. Perhaps EBH was the one who should be there so my vote goes to EBH.

Pippo seemed to be more than decent in February/early March, so I expected him to be as good as last year.

He was good in one race with a poor field, laigueglia. His second place in Lazio was nothing special, he wheelsucked all the way to sprinting for second place.

and he's been nonexistent from then on with zero results in cobbled races.

Sky weren't disappointing because none of their riders were ever going to be good enough.
Pozzato hasn't been the same since he was banned for working with Ferrari so I guess this is his natural level.
Hushovd hasn't been at the top of his game for two years - just declining with age now.
I thought Boom would get a top 10/top 5 in Roubaix but didn't he have some puncture at a critical point or something? I dunno.

Really thought Chavanel would do better at Ronde and Roubaix. He had good races at Paris-Nice, Sanremo and De Panne so at least he has some other results to show for Spring.
meh
